Ha I was about to look for this thread all night to look at the pics again and ask what you thought of the pack tony. I think I like it! I was wondering if it's big enough, but thats a lot of stuff jeff put in there!

I have the Devil dog, pygmy falconII,and assorted MAX,add ons and the Nalgene holder and the Pygmy is my Fav.

Say Jeff, if you have time, could you do what the OP did and take a pic of your gear all layed out and then all in/on the pack? That'd be awesome.

When I get some time I'll lay it all out on a white background and shoot a photo. There's a lot of gear in this pack!

There is a lot of gear in there for the 20 pounds (total) of weight. The cool thing about it is you can shed weight pretty quick depending on your environment or situation. I treat it as a base bag more than anything. I've been working on a survival project (for lack of a better word) in the mountains for a man, and I carry this bag with me and pretty much live out of it. On short hikes I simply take a small survival kit attached to my belt. Anyway, the gear and setup works for me and it's been used extensively for the last 3 weekends doing some pretty serious outdoor work and mapping.

one of my favorite packs for weekends or camping...on short hikes in local areas , I carry my Maxpedition Nalgene holder RC3 kit.

I have a Pygmy Falcon II ordered because of this thread lol. but was also looking at the Maxpedition Remora and the fatboy versi pack for a everyday go bag and for short hikes. what is your guys opinion on them? just looking for some thought process outside my own. and how efficent would they be at holding a Glock 19?

Hey Sean, I have the Maxpedition Jumbo versipack http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=4&idproduct=6 and am very pleased with it. I do however find it too small on some occasions. For instance when I want to bring a camera (small slr) with me it just doesn't quite fit. I believe the fatboy is even smaller. I'm actually thinking (also because of this thread) to get a Pygmy Falcon II for edc.
I have no idea about the Glock. I live in Holland and over here only the bad guys have guns...

Thanks tony, and munckmb i think the jumbo is 50% larger than the fatboy if you find it too small maybe ill just stick to the pygmy. I do think im going to get a remora just for minimalist carry. as far as the guns go, its the badguys with the guns that im worried about lol. lots of altercations between people in the woods where i live unfortunatly. but more so i worry about the bears and large cats that live in my back yard where i do most of my "exploring" better to be prepared i think. thanks for the input guys. and im totally stoked about the pygmy that thing is going to be awesome, cant wait to gear it out.

Does the PF II have a waistbelt?

20-30 lbs is getting up there when hiking, and I prefer being able to adjust shoulder and waiststraps to transfer load between hips and shoulders as required.

No waist belt
That kills it for me.

I am using a Dana Designs Bombpack for my BOB and it's packed up to at least 30 pounds. It seems like a lot, but it is very much good to go. That includes a tent, sleeping bag, stove, filter, and enough cold-weather gear to be comfortable down to 0 degrees. It's my first attempt. Did I over do it?

Sounds like a 4-season bag to me.
My 4-season weekender bag is 34 pounds, but that includes a gallon of water.

Love the High Standard .22!

They may not have been fancy "race" guns, but they were great woods stomping work pistols!!!
