I started doing crossfit some years back. This would be some time between when it was just a website with a few hardcore followers and the current madness where there are more crossfit affiliates than mcdonalds restaurants in my area. For a while things were great. The community had a wealth of information to offer and the workouts of the day actually improved your fitness. Then things changed as they always do. Crossfit caught on.

People who had no business running a gym or teaching anyone took a crash certification course in hopes of making a quick buck. Any kind of standards flew out the window. The corporate sponsors rolled in and crossfit became a spectator sport. The WOD workout became a place to showcase insanely taxing workouts and for people to compare penises. The WOD as a tool self improvement became useless. The boxes a place for incompetent coaches to take obscene amounts of money off of desperate housewives. Sometimes injuring people in the process.

Now I do my own programming. I will still do one of the girls now and then for nostalgia's sake but mostly it is heavy barbells and HIIT workouts of my own devising. :D

I've done 3 60 day circuits of P90X the recent past but never completed the 90 days. I get bored. Too much of a time commitment. I'm a runner at heart, but overdoing that is catabolic in itself too so I'm trying to stay balanced. I'll do 2-3 5k's a week for the fun at 8 min pace.

Currently, I'm looking into buying p90x3. It sounds perfect for me!

Awesome Schmitte; p90x3 is supposed to be great -- I was at first a runner growing up as a kid, then later got into greco roman wrestling & grappling, so the weight training soon followed suit. There are a lot of dudes who get reasonably jacked doing body weight workouts (like p90x3) so I'd be curious to hear your impressions.

This week was all over the place, but wednesday was a repeat on my previously posted macebell circuit, and thursday was a nice 5k for time. Friday off (12oz curls only ;)) and today I might do a quick sprint circuit before cooking dinner!

I just started getting into working more than just the "pretty muscles" more seriously. For me that means dead lifts, rows and squats.
Yesterday I did a really simple workout.
Dead lifts 5x5
Squats 5x5

Man today my traps are sore.

I'm doing a lot of cardio still because I have a few pounds to loose still. Mostly I'm doing the stationary bike since my foot injury keeps me from running or jumping at the moment. I'm going on vacation in June, so that will be the official start of my bulk. I'm hoping to lose another 5 pounds with out any loss of strength.

Very nice man; love squates, deadlifts, cleans, clean & press -- those funny enough will get you jacked (and jacked looking) without any of the other exercises! compound movements are an amazing thing!

Right on gents! Both sound like killer wod's! I did a quick 5k for time >24m, followed by 100 pushups & 100 pikes. Tomorrow's either kb's or an old school dumbbell workout.

Haha thanks man; lots of sweating and suffering. For some reason the quicker runs kill me; the BWEs I don't mind.

AMRAP-20 Minutes.

5 headstand push ups
10 pistol (5 each leg)
15 pull ups

I did 7 rounds 27 reps and got these 2 lovely gifts for my hard work...

Youch!! That's gotta smart newyork.
Hey Will I tried your 100 workout this am. Kicked my butt. Did 3 rounds of 33
