  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Bruce. You and Gus have some good points on refining some of the definitions we use and some of them will, I'm sure, surface at the next Guild meeting. There no doubt should be a distinction between knives made to your spec as a customer and my spec as a maker, That would cut out some of the confusion. That is only one worm in this bucket of worms we are dealing with, If we call my spec knives, bench made then of course the knife company Bench Made Knives gets into the center of the definition. If we on the other hand call them hand made then the a maker by the name of Hand who advertises his knives as Hand Made Knives gets into the definition. In either event confusion is still there. I don't have the answer, I don't know if there is one correct answer.

This one is for free, and my head still hurts from all this high level thinking.
