Today was inauguration day, so in honor of President Trump, I thought it would be cool to recommend him a few good folding knives. Now I don't know if he has ever carried any kind of knife, or if any of the more recent Presidents have either, but I'll suggest three options (1) mid-tech, (2) production and (3) value.

Hinderer XM-18: A customizable folder that all the members of Congress will be jealous over.

Emerson CQC-7: A battle tested design fit for the Commander in Chief.

Buck 110: A hard working blade used by farmer and factory worker alike.

I didn't forget VP Pence either, to him I recommend a ZT 562CF.

Let's try to keep this thread fun. If you dislike the new President, feel free to recommend President Obama a few good folders.

I have this covered:

He's the president, so he should carry a Washington jack.
Now if I was him I wouldn't go anywhere without a buck 119 and a colt python on my hip.

I can't see him with a Hinderer. That's a knife for the kind of people who work for and protect Trump.

A slim and light high-end gentleman's knife would be more appropriate. I think a Mnandi with exotic inlays would be a perfect production knife.

Good luck with that Python. It's a great revolver, but is kinda heavy, even with a 4" barrel. I've had a few, but would not want to carry one all day unless I was riding a horse on the southern border...

Maybe a Case Eisenhower, which was a small equal end pen knife. They are discontinued now but I'm sure we could find one for the President.

Buck Squire or Prince, as long as it American, so that it is not outsourced to another nation which seems to be in line with his ideas. Or higher end, something from William Henry. I think the last modern president that may have carried I think was Eisenhower. It would be neat to see what knives other presidents carried.

Those bucks are definitely made here in the USA, but I feel like he probably has expensive tastes and would want something more expensive than a 50$ or less Buck knife.

He can afford a nice handmade leather shoulder rig 😁

How about a Japanese samurai tanto knife or the short sword called wakizashi in hopes he will use them for their intended purpose.

I was going to suggest something to that effect, then I saw that someone else got here first. Make Bladeforums Great Again.

Seriously, this should go to the political arena before more knife loving libtards like myself muck it up with our dissent.

I believe all presidents, whether or not they carry or are "knife people", have been presented with a Presidential blade by at least the likes of Buck, Case, and/or Randall.
It's also common to have a few custom makers make something for the President.
I believe it's seen as a gift, and cant be kept personally after they leave office, but ends up in their "Presidential Library".
I've seen a pic of Daryl Meier? presenting a blade to one of the Bush's.

All that aside, I could see Trump carrying a fancy gentleman's custom folder, like a Sawby with Mammoth scales and a damascus blade.
Alright, let's throw some gold inlay in there too, to match his living room. :p

Mid-Tech: Brad Southard Tolk (Carbon Fiber)
Production: Some form of a Sebenza with inlays or a Mnadi / Southern Grind Spider Monkey if you consider CRK to be Mid-tech's
Value: Buck 110

All 'Murica.
