Recommend a light edc slicing machine?

haha my opinel has cut two coworkers and one friend.... they see a weird little wooden knife with a stained up blade and think it will be dull, so they immediately feel the edge..... even though they know I keep my knives shaving sharp.

Pretty much any flat ground Spyderco is going to be a slicing machine. If you want something super light, then the FFG Delica 4 is probably what you're looking for. There are also some pretty light weight versions of the Manix 2 with flat ground blades. The Para 2 also weighs very little for its size.

Traditional slipjoints usually have thin blades with high grinds that will out-slice most modern or "tactical" folders. Try out something from Case in CV (a slimline trapper is my office knife, lovely slender blade) or Great Eastern Cutlery.

Yeah when I think pocket slicer, I think FFG Spyderco.

I also have a Fallkniven U4 which is more like a scalpel than a slicer. Insanely sharp and holds an edge forever (laminated SGPS).

Spyderco Caparral. Fits the length you wanted. Nice thin blade in CPMS30v. Looks very classy in either the carbon fiber handle or titanium. Clip position lets it sit deep in the pocket. Perfect for an office.

Light duty? I would go with a Spydy tenatious, resilience or the crkt m16-10 tanto...everything about them streams TUFF, Stong and LITe....all thee of them are worth the money... And yes I second the Griptilians... The 550, and 551.endura 4s are an extreme value.

Another vote for the Caly3 in CF/ZDP-189. My EDC is the 3.5 version of that knife and I love it, but it's maybe a little more blade than necessary or discreet.
