Recommend me a Busse Knives

It seems a little unreasonable to suggest to someone ...knife that will cost him $800 - $1500

Although I agree with RG's thoughts...the OP stated price is not an issue.

My vote would be for a Badger Attack (BATAC). I think that is a good all around knife, especially if you are in the Military. Many of the knives suggested are IMHO to large to carry around without causing a scene. In a military setting their size would probably get you called on the carpet, or at a minimum mocked by your comrades. The badger however, is a nice sized knife that will not draw too much attention, and can be had at a reasonable price.

Ah yes, I see that, now. OTOH, if he is unfamiliar with Busse, he may not realize what some prices have climbed to.

I think it would be interesting to learn how it is that Echer123 has learned of Busse knives.

And, yes, SJTAC or BATAC are other good choices for this application.

Saber Ground SFNO LE ,,,,,,,,,,,, a lot less expensive than a Str8 handle,,,,,and an excellent all-arounder !!!!!!!!!

I agree. Given that it is his first post ever. The cynic in me cannot help but find the question a bit dubious...But I offer my sincere opinion on the BATAC to you, OP.

I've just started getting a real interest in knives, and I've heard great things about Busse blades (i tend to do tons of research on everything i get interested in). Perhaps I'm getting in over my head as a newbie, but it's good to know their is a forum community that's actually helpful and supportive.

+1 on the cynic... I hope that I'm wrong, and if so, my apologies for doubting the OP. However, something seems off. "Price isn't an issue", "used for combat", and "the one you wish you owned"... Yet his thread title is asking for a recommendation. Hmmmmm...

If I am wrong (wouldn't be the first time!), then I'd say look at:

3B2 (ASH variant)
BATAC
SJTAC
CGASH
Hell Razor
SFNO

Yes, a recommendation. What I meant was, what knives would you recommend if i said that i was not concerned with the price. Maybe it's one you own, or maybe it's one you've set your sights on and have heard great things about.
Once again, sorry if i wasn't clear.

Lemme ask you a question or two, as it would help with recommendations:

1. DO you plan to use it in combat? i.e., are you serving and need a good knife at your side?
2. Are you just looking for a quality knife, you plan to use it, but not in a combat situation?

This determination would probably change the suggestions depending on which role the knife will play. :)

Strictly for use as a military knife, I would 1st recommend the Jack Hammer or other variation of the Satin Jack and 2nd a variation of the Steel Heart. Now, if I was going to be in a knife fight I'd pick the AK of course.

I too think the Hell Razor is one of the best, fits in the hand real well and not too big but can do the job if needed too. And not trying to promote my knives but I have one for sale in the busse for sale forum. If you like the smaller ones that you can carry everyday, I love my Bony Active Duty, and I never thought I would like anything that thin. Maybe it's the fact that I have a thing for Satin finish.
These knives are addictive, I don't know of anyone here that only has one and stopped there... So what most people do is buy one for every use and even one in every color so it matches what they are wearing:)

O, the larger ones like the BM are sweet, I know, I got a couple of them, but I don't know if I can bring myself to actually use them which is sorta stupid since these are the strongest knives out there and made to be used...

if I could have just one busse, I don't know what it would be. Maybe an AK with a convex edge. or the chucket, or maybe a Dragon's Fang without the finger grooves.

A bit dubious? Are you people serious? A new guy interested in busse knives asks us to help him decide on a knife and you and Alex think his question is dubious?

You guys should really get outside more often. There is a whole world out there to enjoy.

"a bit dubious"

A quote for the ages.

I wonder what would have happened if the guy asked to buy a busse combat coffee mug?!

Since everyone already jumped on the Hellrazor. . .

A Battle Mistress, specifically, a CGFBM.

The CGFBM is a great knife, but I think it would be too heavy and slow to be considered a fighter

My vote is with with
-HR
-ASH1 (skinny or LE)
-Satin jack

I'm sure there is more but I can comment on these as I have them.

Edit to add: I did not include the Batac because I reckon the blade is a bit short for this intended use.

Hey brother. You don't have to apologize to anyone around here. Its apparent some people aren't on their meds. Don't judge us by the remarks of some. Most of us here are willing to help you out with your "dubious question"

My suggestion would be the BATAC LE.
