Recommend me a Busse Knives

I'm sorry again. I am not in the military, however I do not want a gigantic knife. Anything below 7 inches is fine.

Allowing for good value and not paying a mark up on the exchange the BOSS 55 LE from Busse directly might be a good option. It is convexed on the blade and will be superbly sharp and is in satin and at .25 will be tank like in toughness. The thumb serrations work well for ferro rod use and whilst the blade is thick it will do some "fine" cutting work with that convex edge.

If that thickness aspect puts you off a SJTAC is a good alternative but you will only find these on the exchange.

I'll stick to my guns and still say the best of the best is the SHSH.

My second choice would be the ASH-1 (LE or skinny).

Flip-Flop!!
Start with a Cultellus. When you see what your INFI EDC Busse knife can do...go bigger!

Skunk's just announced a new "special edition" of the SAR 4 coming to the store.....that would be an excellent first Busse....maybe all you will ever need....aside from bringing a "big" tree down it will do it all....I have used my LE on limbing some pretty thick branches and it is a little power rocket using a rear held grip at chopping....

The Sar 4 looks perfect, however I'll have to look into some reviews. Thanks again for all the responses!

I believe I already answered this on the first page.

My apologies... I missed your response of "latter" to another member's question. Gotcha now.

The reason I did ask is because IMO, if I were to use this in the military (i.e. combat missions, patrols, etc.) regardless of price not being an issue, I'd want to carry something that I could easily replace. A newer model, for example, and something that won't weigh more than necessary.

I think that Ken 44 & Jeepnut22 made some great suggestions... The SFNOLE, or recent releases of the CG SFNO as seen at the Knob Creek show and Blade West last year would be an outstanding choice. BATAC's and SJTAC's are also good choices and are still decently priced on the X. The ASH-1 family is another fine choice.

Good Hunting.
