Recommend me a Mora

Clipper companion carbon is awesome, but there's also a Heavy Duty version with a thicker spine and I think it might even have a greater tang length. Going to try and pick one up to see the differences.

My preferred Mora is the 711 in carbon. The handle sells the knife IMHO. It's a great "working knife" that won't cause any discomfort over using it for extended periods of time.

Finally picture of my mora companion.

I was batoning 4 inch pinewood log (I was already splitting stronger logs).

Looks like just enough tang there to pop a hole through and make some kind of friction folder :) I envy the project you could possibly have, do it!!! ;)

I was already thinking about making folder but I heaven`t got drilling machine (only hand one that can`t drill hole in such strong steel).

That us sad to hear, do what you can with it

Try doing it in water so to keep the steel from getting hot with a diamond dust drill bit?

Dont know if that will work but a diamond sharpening rid will scratch it so it has to do something right?

I am no expert, don't take my advice with much salt but still, it looks like a great project! :)

I haven`t got diamond drill bit but my friend has a good drilling machine but each time I go there I forget to take blade with me.

If You can make a hole in the tang, You could attach a threaded bolt and this way get a new tang.

This pic shows how I do it in order to bolt a new handle on the tang.
I use a link from a bicycle chain to fasten the bolt to the tang.

When the pommelnut is tightened, the antler contributes to the overall strenght of the handle.
When also glued with epoxy and filler, the handle gets almost bombproof!

Little too much heat treat to be a machete :D

My favorite is the 511. It's the only one I have but that's because I chose it.
