I've carried folding knives ranging between the SAK Classic's 1.5 inch, up to the nearly 4 inch blade on my Pacific Salt. Up until about 2 years ago, I didn't bat an eye at the size, until one of my coworkers blanched at my stainless-handled Dragonfly 1 I happened to be carrying that day; I flicked it open, opened a box, and closed in in the space of about 3 seconds. I didn't land in trouble, but it made me think twice about the size and type of blade I carry.
Nowadays, I do gravitate toward smaller blades out of convenience. The largest blade I EDC is a Buck 309 (I think), which has a 2 inch-ish main blade and a smaller spearpoint. It's tiny, does what I ask of it, and won't lose me my job, which I value far more than the knife I carry in my pocket. Paired with a Micra, I'm at a good place with my EDC
