Recommendations for a new EDC Blade?

I just saw that one. possible but it's pretty darn close to my Vantage, and the vantage is USA made which I like a lot. Gotta support my brethren up there in Idaho.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the recommendations guys. I know I sounded like I'm being super picky, sorry about that. It's just a pain to find the perfect knife, which will most likely never happen. I don't think I have ever met anyone who has their perfect knife.

anyone wanna make the one I have designed? Lol

You don't sound like a big Kershaw fan, but I'm going to recommend the Kershaw Skyline for the heckuva it. It meets all your criteria: non-assisted flipper, hollow ground, G10 handles, linerlock, sub-3 inch blade, good steel, USA-made, around $37. Plus, there are different versions in coyote brown, orange, and red handles if you want to be a little more unique.

I actually had one of those for a few months. I liked it in the beginning but the spear point blade wasnt a fav. I know that knife has a following but it wasnt jiving with me for some reason.

I had a CRKT Drifter for a while and liked that little sucker, but it would have been better if it had a tipup carry option a combo g10/framelock and a better blade steel I would be sold. perhaps a flipper.

I like the bones of the kershaw cryo but the design needs some work in my opinion. It could be more refined and less weighty, a non assisted version would be better.

I freakin love xm-18's but cant afford that, same with Chris Reeve.

If the Spyderco Southard had a 3" blade and a deep carry clip I would own it.

Too much to choose from! AG Russell Gentlemen's Ti Framelock, a user Spyderco UKPK in Carbon Fiber, Bradley Alias user, Benchmade Sequel. I had a UKPK loved it, traded it. I switched over to EDC'ing a traditional. I thought originally that I would hate it but I don't. I just got it in the mail today and its so much easier to carry than what I'm normally used to. Breeden makes some really cool tiny fixed blades too. That might be up your alley. The traditional slipjoint just disappears into my pocket. I was like two seconds from pulling the trigger on the AG Russell after going back and forth on that and the Sequel, and then went traditional slipjoint.I'm really glad I gave it a try.

This thing should hit on all counts for you...my only beef was that it had thumbstuds and a flipper.

That thing is a chunk o metal. The idea is to have one that is a good every day use that I can carry in jeans, slacks, and shorts etc...i dont want an anchor in my pocket. I have plenty of knives for woods use and hard use jobs. I just need something to do normal stuff with. I'm not gonna be prying anything open or stuff like that. I might use it from time to time to help prep dinners etc but not hardly at all.

That is very nice looking. Do they make it with any other handle materials like g10 or micarta on one side?

Ok, this should sum up what ideally I would want....I doubt it exists though.

A knife similar to the buck vantage line but with a framelock instead of a linerlock and a 3" blade. that would cover ever base I want. but, as far as i can tell, that doesnt exist...yet

I do like the bradley alias, but they have jumped up in price quite a lot recently. I also have toyed with the idea of a spyderco chaparral or a Caly 3.

Although it doesn't tick the "made in the USA" box, the Enlan M012 is a framelock with G10 on one side and a 2.75" blade. It's also about half the price of the RAT-2.

A potential downside is that it appears to be right hand carry, tip down only.
