Record Breaking BLADE Show!!!!! . . . . YOWZA ! ! ! ! ! ! . . . Thanks To All . . .

I went by there first thing on Friday but I have to say it was very confusing to me. Maybe I am just not accustomed to the way business is done at these shows. I went by and there was nothing to look at. Lots of personnel standing around but none really talked to me. I asked if they brought anything to look at and one guy just walked off. I left. I really wanted to leave the show with something, especially a swamp rat, really just swamp rat anything. I came back and it was crowded and there were a few knives around and I asked a busse guy if they had any RMD's. He literally didn't know what I was talking about and didn't show much interest. Very rude and apathetic in my opinion. I tried once more to get some help and couldn't so I left quite dissappointed.

Granted this was my first show but it should be a bit more user friendly for new people. The Busse table was the priority for me at the show but it was not a good experience for me.

Maybe next year you will stop by the Busse table..:) Sounds like to me someone put up a fake Busse table sign to confuse people..

Welcome to Bladeforums.. Maybe your 2ND POST will be more accurate..

I would love to have the chance to help make this right. Let me know what blade finish and handle option you would like to have on a RMD and I will pass the order to the Swamp for them to take care of you asap. Please e-mail me lexi@bussecombat.com.

It is very unlike us to be rude and I would like to apologize on behalf of the entire crew.

Thank you,

Nightshade, I'm sorry for your experience. Sometimes there can be confusion at times and I know that the Busse crew would never intentionally ignore a customer. I certainly hope that you will not allow this experience to leave a negative impression. I am not making excuses or giving reasons, but I know there were times when they were slammed with taking orders and when I've worked at a knife shop (Not related to Busse Combat, nor do I represent them in anyway), I can get lost in the sale and with Blade Show's hectic nature, it can happen. I do hope that you give them another chance if you make it to another show. And if you do make it to the show, please find me and I'll be happy to introduce you to any of the forumites I know. Again, I'm only speaking from my experience and don't represent Busse nor was I there. Just offering my $0.02 on the matter :)

Edit: Lexi rocks. And I type really slow apparently lol

I gotta say that blade was a phenominal experience and I will most definitely be back in years to come! Best customer service in the biz. I dont know what nightshade is talking about, probably just trolling around. I was at the table most of the time and even not being an employee i would have gladly answered any questions about models or steel, i dont think there was any hogs who wouldnt do the same.

I actually called the shop today to thank Jerry for the awesome time! And free food and booze!!!! But alas he was not in :( the lovely and talented Lora took my message and as usual it was great to talk with the busse girls!

Blade was awesome and i cant wait for next year! Im gonna bring my trough stompin shoes for sure!!!!

Thank you for the courteous response. Unlike the harley guy that thinks he knows more about what I experienced based on my post count. I wasn't mad, just thought I would share the experience from a new guy's perspective. Getting new customers involved is the life blood of my business so I thought I'd share. It's no big deal, I really wanted to pick out something at the show instead of ordering by mail but I'm sending you an email now. Thanks again for the response.

Seriously?

i don't see how it's necessary to imply that he's lying. In the confusion of an event as big as Blade, it's very believable that one guy fell through the cracks

I very much doubt that there was even the slightest malicious intent on behalf of those working the Busse table, but it isn't impossible to think that tired people swamped with hundreds of people could allow ONE to have a less than perfect experience

The key here, as Lexi has so expertly demonstrated, is to make sure that he ENDS happy, even if he's not right now.

You can either piss off this guy so he never buys from Busse again, or you can take him at his word, and do what it takes to make it right

Thank you yet again Busse crew for getting it right as you so often seem to do

Record Breaking BLADE Show!!!!! . . . . .

In spite of our best efforts, and the fact that we brought over 300 more knives than last year, the trough was totally decimated!!!!

We were completely SOLD OUT after the 10:00 AM Saturday morning offer. Had we not held blades back for the Saturday morning offering, we would have been completely sold out on Friday!!!. . . .

So, what changed. . . what was the difference?

Well, the ONLY thing that changed on our end was the Busse BLADE Show Command! ! ! . . . .

With Amy gone and myself not being able to attend at the last minute . . . . Garth and Lexi took charge!!!

They took the reins and with the the Busse Knife Group Booth Crew in high gear, they knocked one out of the park!! :D

I'll admit that I was a bit nervous about Lexi not having years of experience with the show, but from the reports that I have been receiving from our customers, she, Pokey, and Laura did a phenomenal job of getting everyone squared away!!!

Tons of compliments about the entire Busse crew and the much more relaxed atmosphere have led me to believe that I should have stayed home years ago and drank from afar!!!!! :D

So, here's a gigantic THANKS to all who made up the Busse Knife Group Booth Crew!!!!! . . . AND an even bigger thanks to all who make up our incredible family of customers. . . . The genuine camaraderie is unparalleled.

Next year we're going to bring a ton more . . . and I'm going to sit at the bar and do what I do best!!! :D

Let's Drink!!

Jerry
:D

.

Jerry, You were missed, my second blade show and I will tell you garth, josh, beef, pokey, lexi and laura and all the others were great!! They did a wonderful job and everything I have to say is positive!!

AMY, Skunk and yourself would have been great added additions but it understandable how things happen and hope all is well with you all?

I was once again treated like family and had no negative issues...hope to see YOU and and the rest of the gang next year!!

Jeff
AKA Manix Jowls!

GOOD JOB BUSSE CREW!!

It was fantastic, AND my first Blade show. Hung in there even though I was ill. Induction was something I will not forget. Next time, I am catching more cards! Jerry, I look forward to meeting you next year. Your crew represented you well.

Boss Hog, you were dearly missed, but the Crew did a GREAT job that you can be proud of!!! Of course I spent more than I planned on, but I left with some great knives for myself and several folks I proxied for.
While I really missed the Amazing Amy, Lexi, Lora, and Pokey did a terrific job in all the pandemonium. The guys did too, but the Ladies are MUCH better looking! :) The newly inducted Colonel Hog and I had a great time!!!!

Jerry,
Congratulations on stellar employees and an awesome show. You were missed by all.
I appreciate everything you and the crew did for me and the others this year. Great times, awesome memories and hopefully some new friends came out of it all.
As did a rather amusing and prideful new name all here are welcome to use when referring to me---Need2Pork.
Love it!:D

COLONEL HOG! Drats and Double Drats! Guess she REALLY out ranks me now. (We already know she out ranks Tom).;)

Jerry, I have to say that I was amazed at how quick everything sold out and thanks for having the crew stick to their guns on the start time. Opening time on Friday was crazy fun.

Everyone really missed not being able to see you, but we all know it is way more important to take care of family and we could all tell that you were in a tough spot. You could tell Garth was very worried about how things would go without you and he filled the shoes very well. The gals ran a tight ship even when they were visibly exhausted and just kept charging on through it all with a smile and a hug. Beef and Josh kept a good eye on things and all of the volunteers were as helpful as they were able to be within their pay grade.

It was my first Blade experience and it rocked! Thanks for releasing so many new models, offering so many deals and thanks a ton for the free food, booze, games, credits & knives! I've never before seen a company treat their customers like family the way your crew did. Yup, they all deserve a raise IMHO.

I guess the only clarification I might ask for is if the people you talked to were wearing yellow & black colored Busse shirts or some other color since a lot of customers had Busse shirts on too and were very focused on the next offering... and at offering time things are extremely hectic in the trough. I would hate to see the Busse crew being blamed for something that might possibly have been someone else? I was not even wearing a Busse shirt yet I had several folks come up to me and ask questions that I tried hard to help. However at offering/presentation time I will be the first to admit that I very well could have been that rude guy as I vaguely remember two people who were unable to get my attention at a critical time. I was a piglet on a mission in a trough full of much more experienced Oinkers. That doesn't make it right, but sometimes the truth hurts. :o I suggest you take Lexi up on her offer if you haven't already as then you will really get a taste of Busse employee's typical customer service that will more than make up for whatever went down at an extremely busy show. I wouldn't have driven 2300 miles each way to Blade for anything less than the customer service the company has provided me over the phone the past 3 years. Example follows...
