Record Breaking BLADE Show!!!!! . . . . YOWZA ! ! ! ! ! ! . . . Thanks To All . . .

Count me in for the bar! I didn't catch a single tag. Hand-eye coordination, not my thing :D might as well just go with it and start drinking!

Great news Jerry!
The Busse Hype is still working!! :)

"Hype" is a tough word to use. . . We eliminated any accusaations of promotional "hype", in regards to the performance of our knives and my ability to consume enormous amounts of alcohol, in 1998 when we started doing "live" demonstrations. Our INFI blades surpassed all of our claims and my capacity to hold alcohol is simply not of this world ! ! ! ! . . . No brag. . . just fact.

Now, if you mean it in the context of people being "hyped" up with excitement, then I am with you!!!! :D:

Let's Drink!!!

Jerry :D:

All of this hype isn't helping me forget that there are no knives left over for a Blade Ganzaaa.... :(

Just Kidding! :p All I need is the NMSHBMLB to be up on BusseCombat.com for order! :D

I went by there first thing on Friday but I have to say it was very confusing to me. Maybe I am just not accustomed to the way business is done at these shows. I went by and there was nothing to look at. Lots of personnel standing around but none really talked to me. I asked if they brought anything to look at and one guy just walked off. I left. I really wanted to leave the show with something, especially a swamp rat, really just swamp rat anything. I came back and it was crowded and there were a few knives around and I asked a busse guy if they had any RMD's. He literally didn't know what I was talking about and didn't show much interest. Very rude and apathetic in my opinion. I tried once more to get some help and couldn't so I left quite dissappointed.

Granted this was my first show but it should be a bit more user friendly for new people. The Busse table was the priority for me at the show but it was not a good experience for me.

Hey Nightshade111,

I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience but I am glad you took the time to post. You gave the Busse-kin group a chance to show how dedicated they truly are to customer service. They are highly responsive to customer's needs. This is why I look forward to dealing with them everytime they offer a knife design I like. Top quality product and customer service equals success. Well done Lexi. Every bussiness owner would be very lucky to have you on the payroll. BTW, Nightshade, enjoy your Ratmandu!

I gotta say that blade was a phenominal experience and I will most definitely be back in years to come! I dont know what nightshade is talking about, probably just trolling around. I was at the table most of the time and even not being an employee i would have gladly answered any questions about models or steel, i dont think there was any hogs who wouldnt do the same.

My girlfriend came with me who has little interest in knives or guns but is patient in my hobbies. When I read your comment calling me a troll, I texted her at work to get her (a completely uninvolved, objective person who happened to be with me at the show) opinion. I asked her, what was your impression of the busse section, her response was "Not good. I thought the people were not friendly". This from a person that didn't care either way. I actually remember her asking me as we were standing at the table, do these people actually sell products? I told her maybe there is some kind of secret handshake or password or something lol. What shocked me was the employee that didn't know what a RMD was when I asked if I could see one.

BTW, I talked to people behind the tables who were employees. The last thing I would do is take advice from somebody in the crowd. I wouldn't want answers from customers standing next to me in the crowd. Couldn't care less what you or someone else had to say that was standing in the same position as me.

It seems like most people had a good time and my experience was an outlier so I will try again next year since I am pretty close to the event.

Busse from time will have a blade show only employee to help do grunt work, maybe you got one of the few people who simply were uncertain. I saw atleast 30 rmds throughout the show and bought 3 myself. On not taking advice from the ones around you, thats unfortunate cuz the answers you seek are in every direction other then the one you obviously looked in, bummer.

Just wondering if you asked for a R M D or a Ratmandu?
As far as advise from customers standing shoulder to shoulder with you,I look for advise from some of them.I do have a bit of a crazy radar to know who to listen too. Many of these guys know more about the products than the people behind the booth as collecting and learning about the knives is a passion for them where for the booth workers it is just a job and may well not have been even employed with the company very long. These collectors can give you back stories on many things you may want or need to know about a company good or bad that the employees can not or will not talk about.I have gotten a wealth of knowledge from people in the crowd at many gun and knife shows that turned me away from really bad products and companies that I had no information on as well as introducing to really great companies and products I had not heard about.
NOTICE,the above comment is not in any way about Busse, the Busse booth or Busse employees.I meant it as a general comment about getting good advise from long time customers and collectors.

I asked for a Rat Man Du specifically. I have no problem talking to folks in line or a crowd but my point was, I was there to buy one, not talk about them. All I needed was someone to hand me one and take my money.

If I am talking to a rep and he doesn;t know the answer to my question, isn't it standard to go find someone who does? It's cool that you got 3, sounds liek you had a good show. I need to learn how it works or something because everytime I went by there was nothing out to see or just a couple things I wasn't interested in.

after saturday afternoon, there was nothing to see...

I haven't been to a show, but everything i've seen makes me think that these folks are 100% customer oriented.

Agreed, unfortunately people do make honest boneheaded mistakes (im living proof) I can tell you, next time if you are a bit confused just yell Eric and Ill come to save the day and give ya a cpl pieces of bacon taboot : ) maybe even snort out what yer lookin for if its gone.

I don't know,Maybe you caught them right after an offering before they got the blades put back on the table. They remove them to keep anyone from falling into them or knocking any off the table.Saturday morning there were 5 or 6 RMDs on the table. My son bought a satin with black-tan g10 then. There were also several done in offerings,I caught a card for my green-orange satin RMD.
I will say that for anyone going for the first time it can very very confusing on how the offering system works at the booth.Busse is not like a production company that turns out thousands of a model and ships them to dealers all over the country, there are a limited number to be had. Please stick around and join in on the forum,go back next year and you will have a ton of fun.

I'm glad that you are hanging out here in the forums and that Lexi is taking care of you. I do hope that you join in the fun here on the forums as it makes Blade show even better when you get to meet the friends you've made online. It's cool that you came on here looking for clarity and I know that forums cause a challenge when you can't see body language or hear tone of voice and the smilies are tough to convey it. If you ever have any further questions, please holler away. If there is a Ganzaa coming up (An offering of knives for sale, a time stamp to wait on before sending off an email in a hurry) and you're not sure about it, please ask away :) Glad that Busse Combat is taking care of you

Record Breaking BLADE Show!!!!! . . . . .

In spite of our best efforts, and the fact that we brought over 300 more knives than last year, the trough was totally decimated!!!!

We were completely SOLD OUT after the 10:00 AM Saturday morning offer. Had we not held blades back for the Saturday morning offering, we would have been completely sold out on Friday!!!. . . .

So, what changed. . . what was the difference?

Well, the ONLY thing that changed on our end was the Busse BLADE Show Command! ! ! . . . .

With Amy gone and myself not being able to attend at the last minute . . . . Garth and Lexi took charge!!!

They took the reins and with the the Busse Knife Group Booth Crew in high gear, they knocked one out of the park!! :D

I'll admit that I was a bit nervous about Lexi not having years of experience with the show, but from the reports that I have been receiving from our customers, she, Pokey, and Laura did a phenomenal job of getting everyone squared away!!!

Tons of compliments about the entire Busse crew and the much more relaxed atmosphere have led me to believe that I should have stayed home years ago and drank from afar!!!!! :D

So, here's a gigantic THANKS to all who made up the Busse Knife Group Booth Crew!!!!! . . . AND an even bigger thanks to all who make up our incredible family of customers. . . . The genuine camaraderie is unparalleled.

Next year we're going to bring a ton more . . . and I'm going to sit at the bar and do what I do best!!! :D

Let's Drink!!

Jerry
:D

Congratulations to the whole Busse team on your success. I just recently started frequenting these forums and I cant tell you how excited I am
to attend next years blade show ALREADY!:D This company from everything Ive been seeing is the epitome of excellence in all aspects.
You can bet your sweet bippy that Busse is where I'll be spending my money.

And on a side note does Busse show up at other small knive/gun shows?
Just interested cause Im right next door in PA.

*Edit* Oh and next years blade show Ill have to bring some homemade beer if anyone might be interested.

Does that work for all the blade show noobies? Cause next year I will be one and Im teddybearish like beef.
