Nope, the bigger 8801 Heritage, and it's even a second (X X right through the tang stamp), but dang if I can find anything wrong with it!

I'm not really a stock knife guy, but that's the kind of knife that would make me one. Perhaps equally important, knowing that it's a Heritage Schrader, I'm reminded of a serpentine Whittler from the same era that I saw, that I might have to pick up now seeing how nice your knife is.

The heritage series ran from '83-'86 and the bone color on yours is particularly nice amongst all of them I've seen. The main blade doesn't have the crocus finish with the etch and there's no shield. Those aren't flaws but rather the knife wasn't finished so perhaps it was put together with leftover parts from the run and the xx blade was all they had. I am only speculating but with schrade all manner of odd things can and do occur.
