RED Friday

Personally, I believe a rope ladder (or any ladder, for that matter) would be far, far worse.
I disliked using a ladder to get on the roof of a semi trailer, box truck, or camper to find and fix any leaks.

Didn't have to do any rope ladders. Folding aluminum ladders, various maintenance stands, all worked good for me. Back in the day the upper anti-collision light on our C-130s was still a rotating reflector over a large lamp located on the tip of the vertical stabilizer. Going up in the cherry picker basket to replace the lamp on a windy rainy night when the aircraft and basket were both bouncing around was always "fun".

I hear you, I have an orange alox classic and it's surprisingly tiny. I have a rambler which is not alox but it has some really handy tools and it's the size of a classic. It's a little easier to handle so I carry it more than the alox. But your photo looks great so there's that! 😂

I replaced my smooth Alox Excelsior with a cellidor version, no more fumblies. :)

Pic thread, another recycled pic, grabbed this for the rest of today and through the weekend.

^ Back in 1966-70 I used to fly in the C-130s occasionally, and we hated those things. Now whenever I see one flying over it puts a great big smile on my face.

Ayup.

Dirty, noisy, smelly, hot, cold, low, slow, rattle your teeth.

I'm so glad I was lucky enough to get assigned to Hercs when I retrained from Herc crew chief to flight engineer.

I could have been assigned to Star Lizards or FREDs. "shudder"
