And since no one made a guess on the last patch, if anyone is interested... BAT60 was the assigned call to the aircraft flying USMTM (U. S. Military Training Mission) support in Saudi Arabia. USMTM is a joint command (Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps), and has been around since 1953. Back in my days the unit from Rhein Main AB was the primary in-theater airlift support, moving cargo and passengers between USMTM locations. We were based out of Dhahran, stayed at the compound where the USMTM folks were based. We had a crew and aircraft flying out of Dhahran year 'round, normally swapped every two weeks. As previously mentioned, sometimes the C-130 squadron on European rotation might pull the Christmas/ New Year shift. Our rotations to the Kingdom stopped when the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait happened, not sure how things were set up afterwards.

Thanks, Tim, I think it's the prettiest knife I own. Great stag, triple threaded bolster with my favorite long pull behind the cut swedge clip blade. And just the right size at 3⅞" closed (#72 pattern).
