red trout

:p
If Im being honest...Im disappointed in myself for not knowing about these when they dropped :) I would have loved some of those cover options. As always in this game...patience is a virtue.
Hey Darren, I was fixin' to send you a message, but your inbox is full!

Blue rope jigged bone is killer Eric...I also want to note that this is the cleanest knife I've ever received new. Not a spec if polishing compound to be found in the joint of blade well.

Has a heavier pull than my sheepsfoot knife in Rams horn and I like it!

Shaves too!

Whoa, the covers on that one are awesome.

I also like the sunken joint and slightly overall smaller size compared to the GEC #15 boys knife.

I didn't even notice the sunk joint until I read your comment. Definitely puts it over the top.

Only negative I can say is that the nail Nick is a bit to far back...I can get it halfway open with the nick and then have to pinch it to open the rest of the way.

Might have to pull the trigger on a kirinite if still available.

I'm happy to report that my Red Trout in blue/yellow acrylic has arrived and is beautiful!

Just a very well balanced pocket knife. The way folks on the Porch clamor for GEC to do more stainless, I'm surprised these aren't getting a little more attention. Of course, I realize these aren't GEC, but the quality is there, I feel.

I hate regret, so I went ahead and got myself a backup! (red/black this time)

Whew. Glad you guys bought up the gray & red kirinite knives. Now I can stop visiting the Red Trout store every day and thinking, "If they're still there later this week, maybe I'll have to give one of those poor unwanted knives a home...."

The more I coon-finger and chicken-eye this new Boy's Knife, the more I like it. Great walk and talk. The sunken joint is also a very sophisticated touch that I hadn't noticed until LastRodeo LastRodeo mentioned it.

If I was made of money, I would snag every scale material still available. I get the feeling that most of these will disappear into collections, never to be seen for years.

Talk about a "short run", right? 50 total knives, but just a taste of all the scale choices! Man, a stag would have it the spot, haha.

There's a lot about this knife that says "I'm too nice to carry", but I'm gonna give it the ol college try anyway.

I'd love to see what the ebony looks like, hopefully someone will post a photo of theirs.

. Forum software is giving me fits, but you know what I was going for.

Yep, I fell prey to the enablers as well, Glenn! But that's a good thing... great pocket knives and in 154CM! Thanks to Rich and Eric for bringing these knives to us.

Thanks Darren! That grey/red kirinite is actually some beautiful stuff. It doesn't show in the pictures but the grey portion has some really sparkly iridescence and depth to it, very pearl like.

Eric
I didn't have the best light and my photography skills are limited to point n' shoot with my phone camera so I didn't begin to capture the depth and iridescence of the gray/red Kirinite, but it is as you say, Eric. Spectacular! Thanks again :thumbsup:

I’ve been looking at this thread over and over, some great looking knives! Would love to see a two bladed version as I prefer them but these are pretty sharp looking. No pun intended...:D
