REF: Screwthe49ers, who else in the pass week is on the same boat?

I've got no skin in this one but I'm sure everyone will get their knives back... when hell freezes over.

This guy scammed a lot of people, made a lot of promises, lied a whole bunch, and has offered no explaination. Everything I've read tells me this guy's 110% scum.

I'm not a bettin' man, but I'm putting my money on hell stayin' hot.

He gave me an explanation of what happened. This is what he emailed me yesterday.

I can do a lot of typing tomorrow, its my only day off. and I have 3 hours to myself.
Basically, during thatsgiving while we were out of town, I made some trades using my phone and asked someone I knew and trusted to mail MY knives for me. Since I let that person use my laptop and I have all sign-ins set to be remembered, they were able to try to setup other "trades" on their own and erase any record of ALL this as they intercepted and deleted and also setup a filter for all incoming mail to be diverted to a separate hidden folder and they would then forward the emails they needed to their personal email or another address, I don't know which. In their separate folder, they then setup a set of filters for emails that had key words, like the name of my bank, emails that I subscribe for things like football, electronic gadgetry, cell phones, etc.

Sounds like either hes full of *!%t or he needs to get some better friends,We should know the answer by the end of the week, when people whos knives he said were mailed out get them, or don't get them.

that isnt really helping the situation...offering advice is one thing, but venting like that will only worsen the situation.

Are you being optimistic or naive..........................just asking:eek:

Wonderful when one of the apparent victims of a theft says "everything actually seems to be going well". What is not going well; when someone scams you out of several hundred dollars in cash or knives and gives you a bogus tracking number, bogus excuse, or blames it on someone else? I am glad that has not happened (insert tongue in cheek)

Just how many people shipped knives or money to this nice gentleman () and await his end of a deal? Let us all hope (for the victims sake) that the property he plans to return is not stolen from the cab of his truck, shipped accidently to an orphanage in baphuckistan, diverted by the complicated web of secret agents that live in his neighborhood and work in the post Office, or UPS, or FedEx, or DHL, or, or, or, or...............

If he does finally make this all right please think twice about leaving him positive feedback:eek:

"a little slow to ship but makes it all work later than sooner and when things do not go right he honestly, completely and thoroughly explains what happened":thumbdn::jerkit::barf:

I don't think you are a part of this mess. Your sarcastic comments are not helping us get our knives back. This forum is only for people who are actually involved in this mess.

I live an hour and 1/2 from Knoxville, I have some time on Friday and could make a run or do some more "looking" into this if asked.

Don't have a horse in the race but thought I would offer something to help as it looks like alot of good folks could perhaps be getting shafted.

In a couple of days, we will have a good idea one way or the other, especially if none of the knives show up. If they do, we can begin to relax a bit.

Thanks HillBillie for your kind offer but Steven* lives in Union OH, We have yet to find out why knives were told to ship to Knoxville.

Mike

maybe he really was screwed over by his "friend". I haven't scammed before but once I had all the knives en route and arriving to me I would disappear. I certainly wouldn't be on the forum promising the scammed people to return their knives. IDK this whole situation makes no sense to me.

This is an open forum and anyone can express an opinion. It's walking like a duck, quacking like a duck, smells like a duck: don't get upset if someone jumps in and says, "Hey, look, a duck!"

Anyone want to take bets on whether the next step is "Ok, I confess, I'll try to make it up to you!" or "I'm his sister and he's been hit by a truck!"?

My advice? Get the law involved immediately. If there's a roommate, etc., involved let them sort it out.

yea, but once Benyamin asked people to stop posting "hey look a duck" then it would be wise to listen to him. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7564552&postcount=39

I don't want to discourage debate. I positively encourage the people who were ripped off to be very vocal about it, to make sure nothing slips past us. Anyone else who has ideas on what the best procedure would be, like GronK just now, is also helping out. What I don't like is jumping up & down and cursing and screaming before all the facts are in. And we will have an idea about that very soon. Let's not chase him away while he still may return these knives.

I certainly wouldn't be on the forum promising the scammed people to return their knives.

Agreed. No scammer worth his salt would ever think he'd get away with so blatant a scam involving this many individuals without being found out, and so would simply leave once the knives were enroute to his address. That he is still here, and appears to be trying to work this mess out, makes me think he should have the benefit of the doubt, at least for a few days.

I am not involved but I would say that the fact that he is still actively involved may be an optimistic sign. Stay vigilant and keep communicating. To those who wan't to chime in, wait until these good folks have their knives back.

sounds like the same scheme as a guy from Saudi Arabia was trying to pull awhile back...I barely avoided him.

Good luck to everyone missing their knives!

Sounds like something a 7th dan in Webfu would set up (his signature when he
post. )
