Well we'll well, look at this fuckin bullshit. I have sent you all proper info that was needed tracking and otherwise. Maybe you should pull your head out of your ass and get things straight before posting a bunch of ridiculous bullshit.

Here is what really happened

I sent you the stupid ass hoback over two months ago and yea you did ask me to lie in the declaration form and yes you did ask me to take the knife apart and send it in pieces to try to disguise it from the local customs agents because it was illegal to have flippers and the blade was too long but you wanted me to do you a favor and you would pay extra if I would do all of this so that you could not lose the knife. When I told you that I would not try to cheat customs and that I would just send it normal mail and that it was totally up to you and that the risk was yours, that's when you paid with friends and family because I knew this kind of situation was gonna happen. Now you try to bring this bullshit sob ass story about how you got ripped off and now your an even bigger idiot for trying to tell even more bullshit that isn't true. You know you got the knife and you didnt like it or it was confiscated because you probably couldn't have it in the first place. Either way, go fuck yourself. You know that you were sent everything, shipping info, knife and all and you are just a whiney bitch and can't handle the fact that you fucked up and your shit was confiscated

^ Reggie- I realize that you're upset- but was this over the top response really necessary?

So you in essence, openly admit, that you cheated PayPal out of their fee's (sold Goods & used the F&F option), lied on the custom form (the one YOU filled out), & then you behave in this manner? You didn't have to agree to this transaction- it was YOUR choice. You could've just as easily, said no!

I'm just curious: what is the status with the tracking number? Do you have proof (pictures) that you actually took the knife apart, then shipped it? If you knew this transaction was going to end up in this manner, then why did you do it? I also feel that one would think, that you'd take all of the necessary measures of documenting everything that you did. Did you in fact cease communication with Dominik, after you shipped your knife?

FWIW Reggie- I read this thread this morning, then checked your feedback & history here. I was pretty confident that you would eventually weigh in here, with what I thought would be a reasonable, polite explanation. Your vulgar laced diatribe, could have easily been expressed with a more civil tone.

I hope that this ends well...but at this point- that seems highly unlikely.

I could be wrong here- IMO, responsibility in this case lies with BOTH parties.

Umm...

Flippers aren't illegal here, nor should blade length be an issue. There was absolutely zero reason to disassemble the knife...

Also, the only real lying you would need to do on the customs form is the value of the knife (lying is still lying).

Part of me felt bad for the seller because he went to great (and unnecessary) lengths to accommodate the buyer.

That part of me died reading his response.

HA! This!

If you are going to cheat how you pay, how you ship, and how you declare, keep your expectations low. That's a lonely place to rock. I'm not saying that everyone doesn't like liars... no wait... maybe... yeah.

I remember dealing with Reggie in the past, and he was a pretty solid dude. I know that I've been tempted to accomodate buyers (usually international shipping) to secure a sale, but never to this extent. I think Reggie was put in a tough situation because he wanted the sale and the buyer wanted so many accommodations. I know I've decided that I will only ship hardware/ scales to international destinations, as they're much safer in my opinion (if packaged correctly, obviously).

This is a great example of why many of us do CONUS only.

...and it's a real shame. Especially because it affects me negatively (if I may be selfish for a moment).

I hope all who see this will understand it is perfectly safe to send knives to Switzerland! The land of Victorinox/Wenger/Klotzli...

Folders, flippers (even spring assisted), fixed blades, sword, axes and even firearms can be shipped here (though firearms of course takes a bit more paperwork!).

The only no no knives are balisongs, automatics and daggers (and even these are fine if they can be considered antique).

I've purchased/sold here, the green forum, the devilish place, Amazon, Ebay, New Graham, GPKnives Knifeworks and on and on with absolutely ZERO problems for about ten years.

It's annoying to fill out customs forms (you get used to it) and paying 50+ more bucks every time you ship something across the border (you get used to it), but there is minimal risk, especially with tracking.

In this case, it seems one or both parties misremembered what exactly happened here (to be diplomatic), but it's clear mistakes were made on both sides.

The only way i can conceive customs would ever seize that particular knife is if they were worried their was something strange going on...like it being hidden/disassembled for no reason. You could have shipped it in a Plexiglas box with lights saying "LOOK A KNIFE!!" and it would arrive fine.

....Sorry for the rant.

anyway...

Where is the tracking number?

Friendly tip: if you trust someone who's willing to break the rules/law (PayPal and taxes)... you probably shouldn't.

We should have a header for this forum with lines like yours prominently displayed.
We used to say "no honor among thieves."

Time to get serious. Is form more important than function? In this case, both buyer and seller broke rules, and neither showed the good grace to honestly admit their mistakes. So they are not likely to learn from them. So others are less likely to deal with them. Everyone loses.

How would they handle lying on the customs form. Some countries that means the inspector just got a free knife. Also, making it look super suspicious by taking it apart was stupid. I could see them thinking it was an automatic that just needed reassembly and a spring added.

Well, I don't feel at a loss. I just learned 2 people who I now know I don't want to deal with. Thanks for pointing yourselves out guys!

Yep. This, too.

Lying about a second hand knife's worth? Far less likely to raise eybrows, but worth the risk? No.

Is lying bad? Yes.

Is lying to customs bad? Hell yes.

Why Continental US only? Shipping ot HI, AK, PR, Guam, USVI, etc is just like shipping to Florida, it just takes a little longer.

florida is the conus. so no it's not like florida. it has to leave the country to get to those states/territories/locations.

He's saying that leaving the country doesn't make a difference. Shipping to Hawaii via USPS is just as easy as shipping to Florida. The problem is shipping to other countries and dealing with their customs/local postal systems, not the physical act of flying over the ocean.

Yes, we have............funny how these threads work out.

Why you would take his statement so literally is beyond me. He means it'd take no additional work to ship to those areas, so there's no point in excluding them. I'm 99% sure you knew that, but I've been wrong about people having common sense in the past...

It doesn't have to leave the country to get to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin islands either.
