Regrets

I threw back both the muddy mojo variant and the SNO variant. IMHO, if I'm buying it to handle and checkout in person to resell if I don't like it, that's okay. After some thought didn't think either of those knives would be my cup of tea, I wanted to give people that really wanted them a go.

Here is my problem with “good old days" posts; in a nutshell they are insulting to the people I have met in the short time I have been here that are “good people”. Some of those are from the times called "the old days" and some are from the very newest days. To say that one longs for the old days minimized the good that can be found here today.

Some of you may not agree and that is fine with me too. But this is my opinion.

Edited. To clarify what I mean by the good old days was the posts/threads/shinanigins that occured. As of late, the posts seem to have lost what was posted in the past... Drunken shinaningins, good times and an all around sense of fun and enjoyment. I apologize for not clarifying this in my post as I too find some great people to be here currently.

Hope that clears things up. :)

That's odd. I only see one that sold for about $45 more than the Ganza price and the seller paid all shipping. Did I miss somethng?

I was thinking more of the one I saw a few days ago listed for $1000 ($950 to paying members). Besides, wasn't everyone amazed at the low, low asking price on #38?

Oh yea OK.... I do hope that personality returns and I hope to do my part to help it along:thumbup: and keep this fun and not about money.

What HE said!:thumbup: There a lot of good people here. I've been fortunate enough to meet a bunch on the 'Forums, including Tony G. It's not the good old days that you miss, it's the positive ethics & morals that one thinks of when hearing the term 'good old days'. Today's values seem to be learned more from the TV for most not fortunate to be taught better, with the exception of those inherently 'good'. It IS hard to be fair about selling when you know that you can fetch a higher price... But, there IS a line between fair and 'Capitalist Pig'. It is foolish to sell low enough to have another person snap it up, mainly to resale at a higher price again almost immediately. Also, for most, the goal is to make enough 'profit' to allow your collection to slowly grow without going broke, and to AVOID having to sell what you don't want to sell to pay the bills. Profit taking IS good, but like EVERYTHING else, only in moderation. That is where the ethics come in. :D JMHO :D Recommendation? :) Teach by example, show them the way. I will try to adhere, myself, but if anyone has a copy of "The Code", please post it or PM it to me, cool? I don't mind playing by fair rules, but I'd prefer to not play "50 rules according to Gibbs, a la NCIS." :D Cool? :D

Amazed maybe and maybe not, they didn't post "I'll take it" like say it was a SHBM 1 of 300 for $650, rather than $1,000 (or whatever a 1-300 may be worth)

A 1/300 SHBM is only worth what you are willing to pay for it. :foot:

When I sold my 1 of 100 (from Jerry's own lips so I believe it) SHBM, it went for alot less than that. I wasn't trying to make a huge profit, just enough so I could pay some bills. To me the good old days can be as old as yesterday when your memories like mine!!

What the f**k is considered a huge profit. 20%, 30%, 50% 100% like I have seen alot of Busses going for on the exchange? What is "just enough to pay some bills" 10 dollers, 100 doller 1000 dollers?

I applaud Tony for his sale, but even he said that if it went in the safe next time out it would be for 800.00.

I withdrew that knife due to critism from the people on this board. people saying it wasn't very Hogish. Yet I noticed something. None of the real hogs ever spoke up. If you go back and look to when I first joined this board, their were alot of "HOGS" selling at 50% to 200% mark up. When ever it was asked about the answer was rairity and desirability dictates price and if you didn't like it to bad. If you wanted to play in the secondary market you payed secondary prices. This was from Named Hogs, not little piglets like myself who are trying to redefine the definaton of a HOG.

Read my prior posts on this and you will understand what I was doing. If not oh well. If anyone wants to discuss it I will be happy to. Or you all can keep inserting little sarcastic jabs into others posts.

Either way Have a great day.

Just to clarify-- When I started this thread I didn't mean to criticize anyone for asking whatever they think they might be able to get for whatever they bought. It wasn't intended as a sarcastic jab. (I might have to sell most of my Game Warden collection in the near future, and I won't mind a bit if I make a few bucks over what I paid for them.) I was just observed in response to another post that quickly reselling with a substantial mark up seems to be frowned upon around here.

Micky,

If your above comments are directed towards me for what I said in that other thread then so be it.
I am just a piglet myself and am still learning the way of the HOG.
If you read the complete post then you will see where I wrote it was your knife and you could do as you please.
Micky,

It's your knife and you are free to do with it as you like.
I was mearly giving my opinion.
I wish you all the best in your sale.

dave

I also sent you a PM and have yet to receive a response.
My comments are my opinion and mine alone.
I represent no one here and quite possibly spoke out of turn.
I have made no sarcastic jabs in other posts towards you or your sale thread.

Regards,
dave

 Ouch, I hope that I didn't contribute to any of this... If I did then :foot: it was way far from my intention... I was just, oh heck I'll just be quiet now... Hey, I understand him. I was in denial myself about being fat until about three weeks ago.

In my best "Fat Bastid" voice from the movie Austin Powers.

Get in my belly
I'm higher on the food chain than you.
