I have three Sebenza 21's (a large and two smalls) and would like to add a Regular to my collection. Am I correct in assuming that since the Regular is no longer in production my only chance of getting my hands on one would be to purchase a used one?

Yes, that is correct. And you will pay a premium. Once in a while you will see one posted that is essentially nib that has sat in someone's drawer for 10+ years.

Hmm, that's what I thought. Kinda sucks cuz I'm a little leary about buying a knife from someone I don't know.

I would sure like to see the "Regular" Sebenza come back. I sure do like the blade shape much more than the slimmer pointier 21.

That is correct. And to brace you for the sticker shock, expect to pay almost double of what a new 21 will cost.

Me too. Let's put the pressure on Chris to do a throw back production run of Regulars!!!

And Chris will just laugh. They are gone for good just like the OPK's.

Many like me have long said the Large Regular Sebenza is the finest folder ever made. That's why most hang onto them. I have sold some over the years, both large and small. Will never sell another one.

The "Regular" style was produced for over 10 years, so there are a lot out there in the world. Just keep your eyes open on this and other aftermarket exchanges and you should find one eventually. The downside (or upside depending on your perspective) is that they do keep rising in value, above the current MSRP for new Sebenzas.

If you hang around here long enough, you will find this forum to be a helpful and overall great place to hang out and share your hobby. This is a good group, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a knife off the exchange from an established member. Much better to buy here then off the bay......
And to chime in, the regulars are my favorite crk folder! I especially like the annuals becasue of the one piece inlay.

^^^ Indeed, I would happily buy things from all the regulars here...especially Regular Sebenzas. :p

The Regular is the Sebenza to have IMO and it is up there with the best of the best. They do pop up from time to time and are not impossible to get hold of, they just aren't exactly the easiest knife to pick up. Good luck in your search. :)

there was a regular in the classies just the other day. It was a lg bg-42 plain I believe; listed for $800
just have to be in the right place at the right time, but yes looks like they go for a premium. I am new to CRK's/sebenza but I have to admit not knowing anything yet that I do like the regular/classic knives better. At least as far as appearance goes.

can anyone list or pm me other good places to hunt for used/older CRK's, thanks

You see more here than probably anywhere. Just keep an eye out here and on the other knife forums. Always ebay as well, but I see more on the forums than there.

Thank you. One day I hope to find a regular or classic that calls out to me:) As for now, The new sm sebenza w/box elder inlays is in the mail; can't wait to see what these knives are all about:D

You'll love your inlayed sebenza. I have a small inlayed with macassar ebony, i'm afraid to carry it. If i do, it's in the leather pouch. Usually i carry my plain jane large 21 or small 21 (silver thumb lug). Gotta get a regular in the mix. Thanks for the info. I think i have to put my fears aside and get a used one. I'll be haunting the exchange til i find one!!

There isn't enough pictures in this thread. :grumpy:
