Regular Sebenzas

I had no idea that the bg 42 Sebenzas were in such demand. I've got a large and a small in my safe that I haven't carried in years. I'm currently carrying a 25 and am very happy with it.

I will never sell mine.
It was a combined gift from my kids(5), for my 50th birthday.
Still carry it every day, and will be 64 in March.
LG

I just scored a small regular Sebenza from a fellow forum member & its on its way! What's really cool about this knife is that it is #31 of the first 200 regular Sebenza's Chris produced in 1996 & is stamped with that number. Birthcard reflects the number & was filled out by either Chris or Anne & personally signed by Chris. Photos to follow later this week.

I can't wait!!!!

I sold my only Small Regular a couple years ago because I was afraid to use it due to it being discontinued. Looking back, I know I should have kept it, but my belief has always been use it or move it. Still, it's the only knife I truly miss and if I could find another I'd have to consider making an exception to my own rules;)

I need to develop better photo skills, but here are three Regulars that are interesting from back in the day.

Once this one gets back from refurbishment, it should be pretty nice.

Here are some photos of my newly acquired small regular Sebenza I bought from a great, fellow forum member, DallasSTB. It is #31 of the first run of small Sebenza's Chris produced in mid 1996 while still at his old facility. The blade steel is ATS-34 (Chris went to BG-42 in Nov of '96, I believe, & he moved production facilities shortly after this run of knives). Note the birthcard - it is hand signed by Chris, & may very well have been filled out by Chris because of the date format (day/mo/yr).

The knife & all collateral material is in mint condition & is a great tribute to the Sebenza heritage!!!

Fakes? I think the mainly Chinese fakes are of more modern Sebenza models. Perhaps someone here with more knowledge than I can weigh in on this aspect. Thanks.

I believe Haze mentioned awhile back that the Chinese made some exceptional Regular Sebenza's, you'll have to get in touch with him to confirm tho.

While I have many regulars, this little, guy is my latest one that I purchased late last year. It's a small Unique Graphic. I have sold way too many of them over the years, so don't plan on selling any more. I do have another UG that just really doesn't appeal to me, but will hang onto it just in case.....lol. For me, I absolutely love the large regular sebenza and still feel it's the finest folder ever designed. I am fortunate in the fact that some of my really special sebenzas and CRK's for that matter are large regulars.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I am not a big fan of graphics but I have to say the earlier ones kinda do it for me. They are edgey and unique.

Congrats. What a great find

Those look great, first time I've seen his earlier ones, I have two of his plane jane small 21's and love them..:)

I have three Sebenza 21's (a large and two smalls) and would like to add a Regular to my collection. Am I correct in assuming that since the Regular is no longer in production my only chance of getting my hands on one would be to purchase a used one?

I know this is an older post but may still be of some help to newer collectors: No there are a lot of new ones out there. I have a mint small bg42 form 1998 that literally sat in someones drawer for decades. I picked it up and now it sitting in a box. I have users already so thats going to remain mint, unless i decide to make it a user ...:o
