I guess I shouldn't mention that Ethan left one of them with me.

sorry - no pics from me, I was too busy swinging steel.
impressions:
the 3/16" blade is a fine chopper, bites and throws chips very well. Had good splitting action as well - at one point I swung it into the end of a log so we could get a picture, and the log cracked. loudly. did not have any issues with this blade binding up in a cut or twisting in my hand.
5/32" blade: nice. slightly lighter feeling than the 3/16", took more effort chopping because it wanted to stick in the cut.
1/8" blade: would be awesome on soft stuff - anything a machete can do, this one would excel at -- unfortunately, it has the same failings as most machetes when chopping into hardwoods -- it binds, it glances, it even twisted in my hand trying to follow the grain of the wood rather than shearing it like its thicker siblings. Still felt good in hand, significantly lighter feeling, and very slicey, but..... in my hands, the 3/16" model was the better performer.

as a bonus, I got to play with a bunch of other knives in Ethan's canvas bag of sharp things. no pictures of those, either, but it was still a lot of fun.

I'd love to swing one of those RBK's!!
I need one. I hope at least one of those bad boys makes it over to BeckerWest. :D
And I do believe I spy a Bill Siegle knife...

This one did it for me.

Great pictures!

Hey Everybody.....

A GREAT time at Psyops' yesterday........ Brought a bag of blades including a Bill Siegle quasi Kukri and a Classic British Army/Atlanta Cutlery Kuk with a reprofiled convex edge........ There was also an ESSE Junglas and a BK 9....... Psyops, Col Defender, Vik and I had a great time with a large Willow log and a chunk of "mystery wood".....Love to watch those chips a flyin'.. ......The Siegle did it's usual workmanlike job.....All Bill's Blades work well for me......... The issue Kukri was a grand blast from the past for me and if it was not made from "railroad Iron" it would be a real winner as to keep an edge on it you gotta have a thick secondary convex....... The Junglas is one of Jeff and Mikes better Ideas and performed well too....... The star, I think was the 3/16ths Reinhardt....... Hank's Genius comes leaping out of this blade....... It chops, it slices and it dices........This version is ground close to the handle so small work can be done and feather sticks made....... One of my little tests is to make a tent stake......Put on a point, crown the top and do an under cut notch.......Simple stuff but it will tell you pretty quick if the little stuff is possible.......... I think you all will find this one to be a winner ........

What a grand good time, good friends and fine steel, a log that begs to be reduced to a pile of chips followed by a lovely meal and good conversation with a glass or two.......

Gonna grab a burger with CBear on the way to the Trade's.......... More to come.......

E

Ps....... The pic's from the Bitterroot were way too pixled to work......LOL........e

Pps...... A quick update ..... There was a T.M. Hunt M9 in attendance as well and it was fun....... Pretty good bark spud and more versatile than I expected...... Certainly an interesting piece and worth a look see........ E

And yes those are brand spanking new gloves that I scored at a sausage shop in Missouri on the way West........ Deerskin.....Ten Bucks ..... Good deal......

Ethan.....
