Reinhardt Teaser

Ahhhhh, "old", but not 20 years ago "old". Got it.

Dunno. They probably won't use the KaBar/BKT early coating (not cost effective for relatively small numbers). I suspect something else altogether.

Here's a sweet family photo...wow.

This....made me weep a little, it's just so beautiful...

I have to say that I really enjoy this blade.......A lot........ It just says to your hand..... Hey, want to go chop something or maybe play machete but, let's play......... This blade has already taught me many things.......... When I owned the early BJK Reinhardt I was not ready to learn from it....... Since July it has taught me more about Kukris than I learned in the previous 30........ I Even understand the Smatchet now....... I knew that Hank knew a bunch more than I did on the subject and never had the brains to ask him..... I wasn't even asking the questions of this blade and the answers just showed up..... I am incredibly thankful ....... I really wish he was still around, I wanna have a long talk with him over a good meal, glass of wine or two and a snifter of fine Cognac about what he taught me through this design.......

You can make this blade sing!!!!!!!!.......

coatings...

well, the Seki City Combat Khukri has no coating, and iirc is convexed and just NASTY :> i have at least one in a trunk... pristine :D

then there's the other model, Becker Reinhardt, two versions as i recall. a grey "sterile" epoxy coat, may or may not have had "printing" on it. we think that was some kind of carbon like steel. not bad. got at least one kicking around.

the one just before that was more a stainless? somewhat bead blasted surface, not really a coating as such. liked it a lot. perhaps a few of those :D

will bide by time to snag this new one. or two :D

here's a nice set of that "old stuff": gives you a good feel for the size

I want one of these, but I also want to keep my limbs and fingers, scary blade. I hope someone posts a safety and technique tutorial for these.

deflection is the biggest danger.

see the HI forum for a safety on how to use a khukri properly

wear a helmet :D

A heavy recurve, kukri style blade takes some learning, but if your slow and careful, you can figure out the sweet spot and how to use it. Bladite is dead on about deflection. A forward canted blade like a kukri can want to twist and glance if you dont take the time to get used to chopping with one. They hit WAY out of their weight due to the shape and balance but that force can get out of control easy if your not used to the way it moves. Just take it easy until you have the hang of it, then practice normal sharp stuff safety after that.

The Combat Kuk and the new Version make me so happy seeing them, its just silly how happy they make me.

I'm looking forward to swinging one of these soon. Maybe around blade show next year? :D

Anybody know if that little angle where the grind starts by the front of the scales is going to stay the same on the production model?

I'm pretty sure it will Jordan.

I really hope these are released soon! Got to play with that proto at Ethan's and Don't know If I can wait much longer to get my very own............. pair. :D

This thing looks soooooooo nice. My lifestyle has changed a lot and the big blades have a lot of dust on them, but still... want!

You should start working on your dual BRK vest/sheath to pass the time.

Way ahead of you buddy! haha

And I can carry 16 BK11's or BK-14's on the front. That's two rows of 4 on each side. haha Gonna use them as throwing knives. haha

This will be epic... Can't wait to cut $&#t with it... The 4 might have to move over.... Who am I kidding .. They both will make the trip

I think it will be interesting to compare it to the Ontario Kuk. I love comparisons... I think this will be substantially better than the Ontario, due to the handle (duh), the weight, the steel, and the ht. I can't wait to check it out.
