In any case I'm in for one, probably two. Finally someone doing a modern kukri "right".
And how is the kukri machete by KA-BAR not right?

It's close but they call it a Kukri "machete"
When I think kukri, I'm comparing it to my HI kukris. The Reinhardt is going to be thinner, but will partially make up in speed and ability to handle some lighter vegetation.
Cold Steel Kukris (not the cheap machete versions) are ok... but their handles are blister magnets (unless you wear gloves) and the flat grind wedges all the time. Compared to say HI kukris (and all traditional kukris) with a great convex grind that resists wedging.
Actually there are a few versions on the table if you notice. Personally I'd rather a slightly thicker and heavier than thinner and lighter RBK. We aren't going deep in "The Jungle" we have harder woods and thicker vegetation to deal with here.
YESS!!!!!!...... At long last........YAY!!!!!..... I got the word from Tara yesterday as I was driving out toward the Casa Tradewater...... It has been a LOOOONG wait....... I Am on the road and will be at Vik's in a few hours and will post some more....... These are gonna be sweet !!!!!!!.....

Very cool that there's gonna be two versions. Be interesting to see the 2 compared with a side by side demonstration.Hank's original Kukhri was approximately 3/16 and is one of the most beautifully balanced blades I have ever held in my hands....... The power that you can exert with it virtually effortlessly is still astounding to me..... The primary grind angles on the new 3/16 ths match the BK-9 so you can draw some conclusions about the "stickiness" of the blade....... I suspect this blade is gonna make a light saber look ineffective...... There will also be an eighth inch version as well which, will be ground exactly like the original..... As many of you know that blade is absolutely dynamite on thin to medium stuff and is no slouch on thicker green wood...... Think shorter machete on steroids........ Soon come, soon come.......YESSSS!!!!!!!!....
There will be one of each waiting for me at my cousins when I arrive on Wednesday and will post first impressions when I can.........
I can't wait.....

Looks like the top one IS the 1/8 inch version. Awesome!
I have a .250 Kukri like object and its well done, but I wish it was 3/16ths instead.Would be too heavy, imo.
