Reinhardt Teaser

Two versions? Holy crap.

Gotta get some early ones to 710 so he can make piggyback rigs for us when they are released.

There are Kukri specifically designed for beheading, but they are not standadr kukri.
They are normally much longer and heavier, built for a single strike beheading. Usualy for goats that are beheaded as a sacrifice, and its good luck to have a clean single stroke kill.
Kinder for the animal, and supposed to bring good fortune to the village.

Khukuri do come in all sizes and thicknesses-my older ones are much leaner than modern ones.
Any khuk will behead "stuff" given good technique and a sharp edge...

In love. I've had a thicker Khukuri House blade for years that's taken on everything. I'm really excited for the thinner version of this. Thank you!

Hank's original Kukhri was approximately 3/16 and is one of the most beautifully balanced blades I have ever held in my hands....... The power that you can exert with it virtually effortlessly is still astounding to me..... The primary grind angles on the new 3/16 ths match the BK-9 so you can draw some conclusions about the "stickiness" of the blade....... I suspect this blade is gonna make a light saber look ineffective...... There will also be an eighth inch version as well which, will be ground exactly like the original..... As many of you know that blade is absolutely dynamite on thin to medium stuff and is no slouch on thicker green wood...... Think shorter machete on steroids........ Soon come, soon come.......YESSSS!!!!!!!!....

There will be one of each waiting for me at my cousins when I arrive on Wednesday and will post first impressions when I can.........

I can't wait.....

Ethan

weird, this box just showed up with Ethan's name on it but my address... :D

I have owned, used and handled kukhris, some old some new,in a bewildering assortment of sizes, handle designs, blade designs and thicknesses.....Some work better than others...... I freaking love them..... The good ones are awesome in their ability to project raw brute force..... Hank's design is certainly among the very best....... I have never handled a better one.... In a very real sense the Kukhri is to Nepal what the Bowie is to the U.S....... A use it for everything blade.....

Ethan, would you do a compare & contrast about the RBK vs. the Machax? How are they different from the designer's POV in terms of use and/or feel?

I think one of these will be comfortable on the front box of my four-wheeler.

Any word on the sheath setup?

The only thing bad about this is my wife will kill me if I buy two more khuks:D I think they will both be fantastic. Anyone questioning the toughness or usefulness of an 1/8" version need only speak to someone who has an old CS Light Terrain Chopper (or try to buy one;)). I've had one for about 20 years and it is likely the most useful big blade I own. Even at 1/8" there's a lot of steel in that blade and when it's high quality, as opposed to typical machete steel, it can be bullet-proof. And it bites deeper than any blade I've seen. These will be nice!

I was thinking the 1/8" would be a nice tool to leave at the cabin for vegetation, or, if Bigfoot doesn't turn out to be so friendly after all.

JDK1,

I love my Cold Steel LTC too..lol I have owned a few, broke one purely abusing it. Throwing a kuk is abuse imho ..lol but I still love em, cause it was my own fault that my first one broke.

seems the 1/8" would be perfect for that (the vegatation not the Squatch) :) I would want it with me and would just bring it there but thats just me. The pics look like there is no coating..... could we be so lucky?
