Man... Sorry guys. I meant to post some pics of the various layered Richlite recipes on knives, but I took too long to find all the photos!
It looks like the Q will be sporting "Luna" layered Richlite, which is layers of Chocolate Glacier, Browns Point, and Maple Valley. The shades of brown chosen are sure to look absolutely amazing when machined, and all of the chosen colors take on a very nice, rich patina with time. I think this option is going to be hard to beat. I don't have any pics of the material when machined, but here are some pics with the material on contoured knives.
R50 is also going to be an option. Of all the solid colored Richlite, R50 is my favorite. R50 is made from 50% recycled, corrugated cardboard (thus the name) collected from the Seattle area. Because of this, you will notice little specs of dark brown/black throughout the material, which gives it a ton of character! The material starts off a warm, honey brown, but will take a patina fairly quickly. I know I have some more pictures of knives with R50, but I need to locate them. :/
Production on the Richlite has already started (3/8" isn't a standard offering).
There may also be a few Q’s in vintage, Oatmeal canvas Micarta available too.
