REK Q fixed blade thread

I'm in of course and may be guilty of asking for Richlite, so my vote color wise would be for earth tones in layered colors. With the aggressive milling on the Q they will look spectacular.

Man... Sorry guys. I meant to post some pics of the various layered Richlite recipes on knives, but I took too long to find all the photos!

It looks like the Q will be sporting "Luna" layered Richlite, which is layers of Chocolate Glacier, Browns Point, and Maple Valley. The shades of brown chosen are sure to look absolutely amazing when machined, and all of the chosen colors take on a very nice, rich patina with time. I think this option is going to be hard to beat. I don't have any pics of the material when machined, but here are some pics with the material on contoured knives.

R50 is also going to be an option. Of all the solid colored Richlite, R50 is my favorite. R50 is made from 50% recycled, corrugated cardboard (thus the name) collected from the Seattle area. Because of this, you will notice little specs of dark brown/black throughout the material, which gives it a ton of character! The material starts off a warm, honey brown, but will take a patina fairly quickly. I know I have some more pictures of knives with R50, but I need to locate them. :/

Production on the Richlite has already started (3/8" isn't a standard offering).

There may also be a few Q’s in vintage, Oatmeal canvas Micarta available too. ;)

Those are the 3 I ended up going with... Luna, R50, oatmeal canvas, plus a few black micarta I already have here from last batch
Gotcha. If there's not enough of the oatmeal, I'll pass my spot on to the next in line, Josh, without any rancor on my part. I'm just not feeling it despite knowing the magic you're capable of with any material.

Of those 3, I would like them below in that order for my preference of choices.

I’m personally not big on the thin layering as it’s really busy for me

-#1 Oatmeal Canvas Micarta
-#2 Oatmeal Canvas Micarta
-#3 Oatmeal Canvas Micarta
-#4 R50
-#5 Layered stuff

I wish I had Blues Blues conviction lol, but I guess I’m too desperate for a Q 🤣

Hey guys! So it's been brought to my attention that I need to clarify some things about the Q batch...

Normally when I do a pre-order I take 50% up front to lock everything in... but this time when I took everyone's names down it wasn't an 'official pre-order' as I didn't take any money up front... but I do want to make sure that all bladeforums members who wanted one got one, so yes it is a type of pre-order (just different from my normal routine).

Once the knives are fully finished and ready then I will accept payment and ship. I want to clarify that I'm not taking reservations for specific scales... however, I AM reserving spots for Q's themselves.

Basically what I'm thinking is when everything is done I will post up a link to the Q's here on bladeforums and it will be FCFS (right of first refusal to bf guys) out of what's available at that point (similar to how I just did with the Embers). Any questions on it please post here in the thread and I'll see if I can answer.
