Love the design (as rendered in the drawing).

The new lines don't go with the flow of the piece, IMHO.
 
Thanks guys, I decided to leave the lines out.

Today's progress:

More curving of the edges with files.

Starting on the copper wing.

Grinding the 3/16" blade to a 1/8" for the wing to go over.

Carved in and cleaned up.

Inserted a steel bar inside the wing, so it's not hollow.

Serge, that is incredible! Love seeing the progression of this one, cant wait for the finished piece....Great work!
 
Having the wasp-like body inspire the shape of the handle
really needs a high level of creative imagination.

But taking the image from there, a shape often seen in nature,
and applying it to your knife also calls for real talent!

Beautiful WIP display, Serge, of a piece of true art that is a knife!
