I just popped on to catch up while I had a few minutes and I saw Yoko's post. I've been sitting here reading all the replies and thinking about conversations I had with Mike and seeing his positive posts almost everyday and I lost track of time.
It's hard to find words and they never seem enough to convey all the thoughts and feelings at a time like this. Mike was one of the good ones and he truly will be missed. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Rest in peace friend. I hope to get to sit and watch the wildlife and catch up with you on down the road.
Mike has been a regular here for many years and is remembered as a very positive, constructive, witty person who brightened our days and made a lot of friends here in the process. I personally feel honored that he chose our particular sub to spend a lot of his time.
Dang. Retired UPS Driver
was a good dude. When I think about people I’ve met in life, either IRL or something like this forum, Mike comes to mind as an individual who helped light the room or improve the experience for everyone around.
Catch you on the flip side.
Awful. You see very few people who are just genuinely good people on forums like these and you just have to assume they were even better in person. Will be missed.
I feel the need to post a snippet of a DM exchange that Mike and I had during July of last year. Hope that’s ok… I had reached out to him to express gratitude that many of us have felt over the years.
I’ve reread it plenty of times today, and feel that it encapsulates Mike’s presence here. True testament to the amazing person that he was and, his affinity to this forum…
Anyway, in Mike’s words, as he can say it better than me:
