Smaller version of what?....Its bigger than a real 1173 and smaller than the 1123 from what I see.....It's a little smaller than the original which is very cool in my book. I'm half tempted to buy one to take apart and pattern for customs. It's an iconic and very capable user pattern.

Ah, just to be clear, the 1173 is a smaller version of the 1123, the Prospector is in between.....R1123
Smaller than the original. R1123. Is that better?Ah, just to be clear, the 1173 is a smaller version of the 1123, the Prospector is in between.....
Seems to be some confusion here....the 1173 is the original 3 1/2" Remington pattern made in the 1920s, the 4 1/2" 1123 is a larger knife made on a similar frame during the same time period and I think the first in the original Bullet series....the Prospector has nothing to do with either one.......Smaller than the original. R1123. Is that better?
The confusion is with you. Your playing internet semantics. I am simply referring to this particular GEC pattern itself which is derived from the 1123 and the 1173 patterns, both originals but obviously when I say "smaller" I'm referring to the bigger one. Nice work policing me though. According to SMKW - 3.4 oz but other knives with this frame are listed as 3.7 oz to 3.8 ozMultiple comments about this knife being heavy. Anyone have a weight on these?
Yes.Can't quite make it out from the pictures posted but do these knives have a Squared End Flush Tang meaning that the Blade, Spring, and Bolsters are all lined up square?
