Rene Roy

So Sad :( . Like many, I met Rene here on the forum and he always had something nice to say or something to help. He will be missed. RIP Mr. Roy. Gone but not Forgotten

While I didn't know him on a personal level. I know he is-was a great fellow with a big heart. He will be missed indeed. I wish his family the best.

This is very Tragic....

Prayers are sent from Donna and myself for his family.
May he rest in peace and have fun sitting and talking knives with all the legends that have reached the pearly gates before him.

We said goodbye to Rene today...the service was very nice.

Here is a poem Rene found and sent to his sister in law a couple of months ago......... she did not know why.

"The Dash"
by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
At a funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the begining to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke of the following date with tears.
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth
And now only those that loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars, the house, the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash...

So think about this long and hard;
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider whats true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

It was a very nice service and it was nice to see such a large crowd of people make the trip in the rain. Those that couldn't, I know you were there in spirit. Thanks again.

I'm just getting back on the ball today so sorry for those that are waiting on replies....I'll get on them now.

Couldn't make it to the funeral, but he was in my prayers. He will surely be missed by all of us at the hammer-ins and on the forums. He was always fun to be with. I am in on anything you need to raise money to help his family.
