Renewed my CCW permit what and why do you carry?

Glock 23, if i carry, which is rare. here in PA it's nice to have a concealed permit for transport. I work in the city and after much study, I have determined that there are just too many people already too close to get a succsessful draw out, they would probably already be on top of me, and if I had it taken away?(not to mention what/who could be behind the target). I absolutly support concealed carry, I just think my chances of survival are better with some kind of escape and evasion tactic.

Depends, winter when Im wearing more clothes:

Sig P226, Ruger Alaskan 454(Yes, you heard me) or my HK P7

Warmer: I picked up an FN HP9DAO compact that I REALLY love, first High Power that really caughty my fancy

I wouldn't even think of having a Gun in the House, aren't these things Dangerous?

(This is in case the Election goes to those who are Anti 2A BTW.):D

A Ct. CCW is honored in 14 other states. Ct. reciprocates to NONE!--It took me 18 months to get my ccw in Ct. because the local chief LEO is a political tool and I'm politically incorrect. Appealed it to the State level and got approved right away.---Back on point. I EDC a Taurus 85CH/ 2" barrel -concealed hammer-.38+P hollow points-5 shot.--Easy gun to hide and you dont have to take it out of your pocket to use it. Carry it in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster that hides the profile. Ive got some larger pistols but this one is very easy to carry--KV

When people ask "why carry a gun?" I give the analogy of a man crossing a desert every day to work. This man carries a vial of rattle snake anti venom with him everyday he makes that walk. Why? Well he knows that there are snakes out there. He knows that if a snake attacks the chances of help being there when he needs it are slim. When the man gets up and leaves for work the anti venom goes in his pocket with the hope that he never needs to use it, but is comforted in knowing that if his life is on the line he is capable of saving it himself if need be. He may never need the anti venom but the one time he does need it, it makes the hassle of carrying it every day worth it.

I believe there are "snakes" every where and not just in the desert. Carrying a firearm for self defense gives you more options. I will gladly run from a deadly encounter if the option is present. When that option is removed a little "anti venom" goes a long way.

My anti venom is a Springfield XD 45. I'll be picking up a S&W 642 soon as well.

I'm and old Boy Scout and I fully believe in the motto "Be Prepared".

Everyday, everywhere I carry my Keltec P32 which is backed up by either a Glock 19 or a PF 9.

You had to enumerate the specific weapons on the permit?

When I worked private security in CA I had .38/.357, 9 mm, 10 mm, .40, and .45 on my gun-card. Why? Because our company didn't supply the gun and we had folks who carried in all the calibers. Made requal day an all-day affair. Just wanted to CYA, CA being CA and all...

Nowadays, I usually have a Taurus 605 in a Kramer pocket holster. Forget it's in there until I pick up my jeans to put them on. I used to carry my Beretta 96D Brigadeer off duty when that was the issue weapon because I liked it so much. I'm big enough to hide it.

Now that the service (CBP) went to HK P2000Ks I have a Sig 229 that I carry if I want more than the revolver.

I also usually have my Mossberg 590 special edition (with the ghost rings and speed feed stock) in the back of the truck. Just for those occaisions when I'm on my way home from work and don't want to fool with the baby-sized work gun.

Why? For the same reason I always have my Leatherman SuperTool with me: when I need it, I want it. Or to restate what someone else said: it does you no good if it's at home in the safe.

I'm waiting for someone to load the FATS training scenarios on a server to tap with a Wii for personal in-home refreshers. Even Mom could "play", and that 60" HD could be really useful for something.

That would be sweet although I'm always so hyped up after an hour or two of FATS training I'm afraid I'm gonna plug some grandma on the line because the last five people I saw go digging for something like that came up with a gun!

At least it makes me think situational awareness, stance, positioning, etc, though.

I carry a S&W 642 whenever I leave the house. I carry because I deal with scum bags quite regularly. I'm currently carrying the 642 in either a Null SMZ shoulder holster, a Side Guard Rough Out pocket holster, or a vintage leather IWB holster. I will occasionally use a Cobra OWB leather holster but it's rare. I've carried a lot of different handguns and the 642 works the best for me so far.

what i carry:

on duty-kimber warrior/surefire x200b, s&w airweight

off duty-either colt defender, ruger lcp, or kahr p40 (rarely)

why: im always a cop, whether in the blue suit or not.

What:

Tricked .45 Super, single-stack Para SSPs.
Ruger SP-101.
Taurus PT-22 with a can.
N.A.A. Pug.
N.A.A. Black Widow.
N.A.A. .22 Long Rifle Mini Revolver.
