Resolved - never came through with $300 knife

Hey, sorry about this issue and the inconvenience you have incurred. I just got off the phone with Mike and he's going to resolve your problem. Please call him at 719-717-2103, that's his new phone number and he is waiting for your call. That number is also good for anyone that wants to ask Mike questions about knifemaking or to see what knives he has available or is working on. Regards.

I think I have all the posters beat on this. I ordered a Menace Boss LTD in July 2011 and still never received it. I used to email Mike for a few years. I consider his emails untill 2013 when I realised it wasn't coming entertainment for my money.

Some of his best quotes:

- "I will get it taken care of!"
- "Give me ONE more day. I promise you, that when you get this package the contents will make up for your wait."
- "I will email you tomorrow with a tracking number"
- "Thanks friend, No your order is SECURE and your knife should ship this week"
- " I really appreciate your buiness"

Anyways....yes....never pay for a knife up front.

After waiting this long that knife better be made out of solid gold! I would expect more in return than what I originally ordered!!

LOL I am guessing there will be no gold, as Mike apparently has used it all for his teeth and jewelry. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I really loved some of his designs and knives in the past ............ but his whole homie, pimp daddy stuff he turned to years ago is nothing if not weird. Sad

First off, apologies to anyone who experienced frustrations as a result of an order. I had 7 fellows working in my shop at the height of my disfunction and I did not manage the logistics of shipping 100 knives per week properly. It was like fight club, literally. I had folks shipping knives and handling my emails that were not of sane mind. I saw the problem getting worse and took harsh corrective action. I decided to go back to my roots, cut all the fat and begin working alone again. In 2017 i moved from a 3,000 sq ft shop in Texas to a 300 sq ft shop in the high desert of Southern Colorado. I reduced my financial footprint including overhead, taxes, mortgage, utilities and focused on clearing any backorders. You have to change things to fix problems and I changed. Now I build speculation knives one a time and aversage 2 per week as opposed to 100 piece pre order runs of days of old. 2018 marks my 20th anniversary as a knifemaker. My phone number is 719-717-2103. My shop is located in Walsenburg Colorado and I gladly accept visitors. I have not heard anything from this last individual who posted since Earl provided my contact info. I dont recognize the screen name and that was his only post. Maybe he is real or maybe he is fake. Most of the news and 30 percent of online reviews are fake. Presumption of innocence is long gone. Hopefully he will contact me with order details. I have made mistakes on orders in the past and we have also had a few bad apples who try to get free knives by claiming they paid when in reality that is not the case. I am available by phone or text to talk about knives or resolve any kind of issue, anytime. In closing aplogies to anyone who had a less than professional experience. To the folks who made unflattering comments about me in this thread I have no ill will towards any of you. Knifemaking is a full contact sport we are playing and quite frankly I didnt read all the everything said. I have truly been blessed beyond measure and simply view negative posts and personal character assaults by unaffected individuals as expected consequences of experiencing success. If your not passionate and original enough to get folks really mad at you then you lack the passion and originality required to have a truly loyal following. Its just part of the business. I have built over 15,000 custom knives in the last twenty years and I would not trade it for anything. My sons now work with me in my mountain knife shop. I went back to my traditional patterns with no apprentices and no outsourcing. I am happier than I can remember being in over 15 years. The more i withdrew from social media the better things got. I have become faithful in a local church and dedicate my time working as an usher and security. I have changed my diet and exercise routine and feel stronger than ever. I had to cut off alot of negative folks but I am now closer to my small inner circle who truly supports me. If you need me just call 719-717-2103 or visit my IG to see recent work. God Bless.

This is an excellent post. “Here I am - call me” is outstanding.

wow . remember watching all the vids on youtube . amazing to see people completely re-vamp their lives . not an easy thing to do .

would love to see some new videos toned down without all the flash and see the new shop and environment you have created for yourself. see some of the work youre doing now.

I hope you didn't sprain or dislocate anything from patting yourself on the back. Bless your heart.

AFAIK there's nobody left who's placed an order and hasn't gotten their product. If you haven't, chime in with a way to identify yourself and date of transaction, etc. Randos can keep quiet for now.
