I guess his final edit deleting his original (and all other) posts says it all.

Okay, now that we know that this was all a tempest in a teapot I guess we can all move on to more important issues. ;)

Spoke with Dan Delavan on the phone yesterday afternoon and he subsequently shot me an email this morning which I am including here to conclude this matter...

Elliott, thanks for the heads up on this...

After reading what was posted on here it was hard to tell what he said as he then deleted his post. That makes me agree with all of you that he overreacted and had second thoughts and he just wanted to make a post to be part of the gang.

Elliott and I talk on occasion both being hockey nuts and he let me know what was going on. Elliott, to the best of his knowledge said it involved a young guy asking for a "tek-lok" in the shop. After talking to most of the family, Pam (my wife) was the only one who said she remembered a young guy asking if we carried it on Monday. She replied "no we do not carry that" and that was it. Regular voice and no elaboration and it was not busy at the time. If it is the same person he read something else totally into her response. If that was not him I would need to know more.

As for myself and some of the others in the shop, (Pam not being one of them), would have said how poorly Dan and Pam were treated at their booth (Tek-Lok) at the Shot Show, so to this point, we do not carry their products. I tend to say too much at times as Pam likes to remind me. Any way they will get another chance with us as we are looking into doing kydex sheaths in the shop so we may carry them soon, or not.

As for customers we have always tried to treat everyone as we would like to be treated. Are we perfect?.. not by a long shot but we have been there for 35 years so it does upset me when someone takes a shot hiding behind the forums rather then calling or emailing me direct. Once posted it can not be taken back so I invite this person to at least email me at dan@plazacutlery.com and give me the full story. I just want to know as we can't learn how people tick if I do not know all the information.

I debated about doing that here but decided I would treat him the same as he treated me, at least with this response. I may be wrong but this will not be the first time. Now I have ignored Pam too long this evening and need to move on.

We all have bad days, both customers and the clerks and after a month of long hours in the shop am sure we have been more lax in how we say some things. Sorry about that! I know many of you come to the shop and have a good time when there so you know how we are. For those of you who aren't in the area I hope you stop in when you are.
I think you will find we are pretty good bunch and are not just a blank screen staring back at you. Many of the other cutlery shops around the country are the same good people who like knives!

I hope everyone has a good New Year's!

Sincerely

Dan Delavan
