I'm not worked up about it, I just think it's a dumb name for a knife. If I had one and anybody asked me what it's called, I definitely would not tell them it's called a "SLUT".
 
Hey!!! Is this a knive giveaway thread, someone say giveaway. Post alot for a giveaway??????? name a knife giveaway

I am not a HOG but I like Busse knives and lurk. Not to be a postWHORE but if I need a Certain number of posts to win, just telll me how many!!
And that SLUT knife, and the drama. My Grand daughter is 7 and knows what a slut is and knows a slut is not representative of all women. However, she feels the words 'crap", "grinding", and sayings like "panties in a bunch" are really offensive.
she also is part of a large law Enforcement family and finds people referring to others as "HOGS" to be a terrible slang word, both vulgar and obscene (see tongue in cheek---><----).

Of course the seven year old and her 11 year old sister do not have much time for BFC and prefer AR-15.com or the self-defense forum as their "family" orientated forum when Disney is down. In reality they are too busy on facebook, myspace, AIM and texting to get upset with words like slut. Oh and that darn texting, these two young girls text all day and night and they are always giggling, especially now that they both learned how to abbreviate words like Penis, vaginia, ballsack, and sh**thead on their cell phones!!

Sorry to interupt you folks, I will return to BFC now where we can discuss knives without offending all the 7, 8, 9 year old lurkers out there!!!..................:p

LOL, this whole thing is quite funny. I haven't been on the forms all that long, but from what I can tell, people that are on here are here because they are into knives. In general, the only people I have ever known to be into knives are adult men (and the occasional adult woman). The way people react to some rather innocent things on here is ridiculous at best. The whole idea of keeping a online community of adults G rated is silly to begin with. Really, as long as someone is not being directly attacked, put down, etc, who cares? I don't mean to sound insensitive, but if one or two people out of a thousand are offended by something... get over it and move along, really... jeesh. *end rant*

Finally! Someone who gets me!!!! . . . SLUT = "Super Light Ultra Thick" . . . All descriptive. . . nothing derogatory!. . . It certainly wouldn't make sense to use derogatory terms when describing our killer cool new series. . . would it?:confused:

Oh, I see the problem. . . You don't seem to understand that SLUT, as we are using it, is an acronym. Putting a word in all upper case is commonly accepted as a substitution for the periods after each letter ie, FBI, CIA, UPS etc. . . . Here, I will fix it for you. . . S.L.U.T. :thumbup:

Is it a great acronym? Perhaps. . . perhaps not. Is it a great knife series? You betcha!!!. . . . . Will we earn a spot on the website: www.unfortunateacronyms.com along with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF)!!!! :eek: :eek: . . . Who knows? . . . Maybe? . . . (We can dream right?) :D

I found nothing wrong with the name personally. I know what a SLUT is, and I know what Jerry meant by SLUTS. It is an acronym for the knife, nothing more.

I certainly wasn't disturbed or hurt when he released the SCABS, and I've had those before. To tell the truth, I've had SLUTS before, but not the type jerry is going to be selling.

Move on, get over it. It is an acronym for a knife model. He isn't talking about someones mother.

My family and friends used to call me a "ManWhore", "ProstiDude", "HeWhore" etc.

Now, before anyone gets any ideas..........I was not promiscuous........ I know you were all worried about my reputation.

I just liked to Kiss (Make out...) with many women.

Even my mom has called me a "ManWhore". Certainly my little sister and all her roomates were fond of the term as well.


As some one who has officially been called "slut" many times......I am quite qualified to let people know......It is ok to use the term.......you have my permission.


I promise I won't be offended.



If you belong to the group, you can not only make jokes regarding the group, you can give others permission to make fun of the group.

If you make a really offensive joke about SLUTS you will probably be forced into a public apology to ME on national TV.

If you make a racist comment, you might have to apologize to Al Sharpton etc.

If you make truly offensive comment about SLUTS, (or manwhores, or hewhores, or prostidudes etc), I am the one you will have to make a public apology to.



Bossman, you have my permission to continue using SLUT to describe this model of knives.....no public apology to me needed!

I think for sheer entertainment I would tell people exactly what Im carrying...
Remember during this FAKE conversation Im a 5'3 cute female who lives in Southern CA, which in turn makes it MORE funny.

*random dude walks up and goes bug eyed at me carrying around a KNIFE in public*
"Hey lady, like, why ya carryin' that sharp impliment on a public street, like someone could put an eye out or somethin'."

And being a polite woman I would respond

"Hey tree hugging hippie, this is a Busse SLUT, which means it's a special sharp impliment and as long as your not stoned it wont put an eye out if you use it."
