His defense reminds me of a guy I bought a fly fishing reel from years ago. He very cleverly photographed it to not show the defects and a couple of missing screws. I would have bought it knowing it had a couple of issues cause it was reasonably priced but the efforts he undertook to lie about it made the whole deal bad. He stopped posting on the forum that he posted it for sale on so at least he’s not robbing other members there.Original post was edited by him to then include the wear and 8 years carry; it was never mentioned untill he edited the post.Here was the last email i got from him before he got the knife back and started this mess;
So, took all ur pictures but i know I missed one. I edited to remove excessive shadows and i increased brightness to see it better.
They should be clearer now than before. In a way I’m glad you wanted to return.
It taught me to pay more attention too close details when selling an older knife.So here he admits that it was more messed up than originally stated in his sale post.And he said he edited the pictures to make them clearer,but in reality he took my clear detailed pics and washed out alot of the wear and scratches to try to screw another member over in the sale again. And the pictures he showed of the knife did not show the wear of what it really looked like and i dont see the wear in the pictures as opposed to looking at it in person or the detailed pics i took later,not to mention the rusty rear screw and ding on the front of the handle.Heres the email mentioning the ding, from the imoji king;
Btw The dent u mentioned is valid but not the rest. It’s obvious you didn’t expand the photos for details easily seen except the dent which I missed.
I bet you will do that next time huh. And he said in his paypal statement i was being deceptive,meantime theres 9 pages on this thread and its 100% against him by a landslide.what a subborn arrogent winner i picked to buy from...
Had another guy that conveniently failed to mention that a couple of really nice looking vintage western shirts I purchased from him weren’t even close to the stated sizes. When I contacted him about the discrepancy between what he advertised vs what I got his excuse was he “forgot” that he’d laundered them improperly and thus shrunk them about 3 sizes…he also stopped posting on that forum after a few other people called him out for other misleading and downright false claims about items he tried to sell. Selling one’s reputation for pennies is something I’ve never quite understood. It seems pathological.
The guy you’re dealing with seems to have more than one screw loose, and they’re pretty dirty too…
