Love that blue/black. The colors are reversed from mine, blue ring more in the grooves.

Mine too. I think franzdom's is an earlier edition. The thumb cutout is a bit different shape as well & the layering is different than my newer one.

Honestly, it depends on a lot of factors, it depends on how thick the G10 is, it depends on how the G10 was manufactured, how the layers were done and how the machining revealed which layers. If "Wood & Steel" took some sandpaper to the face of his a bit, he might reveal more blue. The face of "franzdom"s looks like it has less sharp edges on the face compared to "Wood & Steel". Personally, I like the looks of "franzdom"s scale.

RDA - I agree, franzdom's scale is my preference. I DID sand the scale as I described elsewhere,(see the upper left corner of the scale pic to see the flat ridge) to bring out the blue on the ridges but it's more of a navy blue. The light reflection off the sanded ridges is real nice but I can't sand more or it'll be back to black.

Sweet Too, Like a stroll thru a candy store and somebody asks which one wasn't your favorite

No Answer to that question :)

Thanks R. I never thought it would rival my jade green scale but it's gonna be tough goin' back now! My B/B scale, in real life, makes the steel & Ti & bronze standoffs really impressive. I polished up the edges of the Ti all round, & I'm here t' tell ya, this knife is a stunning blade!!!

Keep in mind that Maprik's knife is a 3" XM-18, my 3" with carbon fiber scale is quite similar to Maprik's knife whereas my 3.5" and 4.0" XMs have deeper recesses for the pivot/standoff screws.

I thought I would follow-up on this topic, I grabbed 3 of my carbon fiber scales (all from RHK of course) and took a few photos. Despite the crappy iPhone pics, I believe you can see the difference in the scales and the pivot countersink to better understand why the pivot sticks out more the smaller the scale. The 3" scale is quite thin compared to the 3.5" which is thinner than the 4":
