Gus,Rick & I talk alot about Tony's cool blades. Then he goes & takes a shot at it
He's a darn good shot.

The "swayhawk" has the same influence of this blade. If you go back a bit & look. That's Campbell's name for it,kinda catchy
The teardrop parer, prev. posted, has the blade styling like on the 5 bld Congress recently posted in the Bose thread.
And Thank You Tony!

Thanks Vince, in the earlier set it looked incredible beside the old dueling pistols.

If you look close Rob,in the second shot there... 3 notches in the 1800's era pistol butt. A family heirloom.

Is the blade on that hunter acid etched or is that the light?

Rob thats the lighting.
Rick always compliments Kerry's photography skills.

Rick's knives will almost always be ss,99.9% of the time.

I didn't think Rick used carbon much if at all, but the color of the grind vs. the rest of the blade made me wonder.

The hunter is d-2 and it does have some color. Its 7 or 8 years old. Some of the best ivory i had. I made a double jack for the old boy that started this thread one time out of the same tusk. My father-in-law who is like a father to me owns and use's this knife he is in the gunmakers guild and builds some of the best rifles that are available. Notice at the plunge grinds they is not a nick. Nicks always grab hair this is the way i like it for someone who is useing these for work knifes and also not a high ground. I would rather scratch chicken droppings as to grind another one like that. I have tried to regrind and put some swedges on it but he wont let me do it.

Those two knives I keep bringing up,last time, in post 889...
Well, here is the inspiration. Each knife has one of two ,similar on this knife :

That would be that recurve warncliffe (or a sheepfoot),and the other one, that Rick put on that last Coffin jack

That is some nice Ivory Rick. I was fortunate enough to get some of it on the BP you made me.

Picked-up this Sowbelly earlier this week and it
came in yesterday. Awesome knife! Action is
excellent, Blade combo is perfect Semi-Skinner,
and Clip point. Finish work is perfect, Grinds
are nice, Menefee Sharp...
