Rick Menefee Knives...

cnas122 you drove the nail. Thats how it was born. The pivot has more bearing surface on the outside but i think 1/4 is enough. I saw a knife Halfrich built and i liked the look.

Rick, are you making a bunch of folders with bone, mammoth, or other natural materials for Blade ?
roland

I think everything will be natural. stag, ivory, wood and bone. Most will be multi-blades. I like natural material ;however, it sucks for a long-term heavy use tool. Roland are you going to Blade.

Rick, unfortunately, no. I don't go anywhere except around here in the West Kootenays of B.C. And 1/2 the time my 5 1/2 yr. old daughter is with me and that keeps me tied up here too, but no complaints 'bout that.
Maybe one day we could have a "Knife Lovers Round-Up" at my place for fishin' and shootin' and cuttin', and howlin' at the moon.
roland

I'd love to have everybody over. There's space to camp, even in the bush by a creek, or springs, if you prefer that to lawn. But the reality is that it's too far from most people here. About 5 1/2 hrs. drive north of Spokane.

Here's a hunter's combo set that some lucky hunter out there has inbound.
Larry Parson's leatherwork
Outstanding all the way around!

Vince & Rick, that's a super fine set that could be called "Hunter's Companion". I would love to own one like this. One knife designed as a 'for flesh only' slicer and the other a bit beefier, towards the "Utility" style.
Congratulations Rick, your artistry and great skill shine brightly again !

'bout time we saw some Menefees in orange!

Corey, & all,he's talented !

NYK Co. shields.,fancy nail pulls, titanium pivot pins. The big boy has the beefed up pivot hardware, killer micarta.
All in all,real good knives!

I lived in stillwater ok home of the osu cowboys for about 6 years. The color makes me think of when i was a much younger man.

Comes this "one of" ,"Five Points Coffin"
5/32" CPM 154 CM ss,hollow ground.
Unbelievable tapered tang
It's 13" OAL,Blade is 8.25" from tip to the gorgeous antique butterscotch paper micarta,7-7/8" of wicked razor edge The blade is 1-1/8" at it's widest point

This knife is beyond my wildest knife fantasies.
My pictures do not do it justice.
I am two knives away from the complete set, this has been being built over a while now.
Thank You very much Rick, there are probably only a few makers out there, that could come close to this blade.

Sorry about the lousy pics....

Larry Parsons did a magnificent job,as usual, crafting a "scabbard" style sheath for this big knife

Corey hit it on the head.I opted NOT to do one handed ,"In hand" camera shot. I'm going to need to realize this blade, before I'm completely confident with it,in the kitchen.

It'll be 9 pcs total w/ finished
3 pcs are re handled tools I owned,a cleaver,a meat flattener & a ss roasting fork. I think they are posted in this thread already
Here are the Menefee knives together.
The two that are being made are the sway hawk,as Campbell calls it & a custom teardrop handled pruner type blade, both these are parer/utility & smaller knives. When those are done I'll take a pic of the whole set.
Then I think I have enough knives, for the kitchen.Since I have an assortment of others that accompany this set.

Notice how that micarta darkens & mellows with time & light
The new knife is lighter color for now

Thanks Rick
