The snark is particularly low tonight. I'm finna tell the girl I like how I feel about her, this will probably end poorly. Dadgummit.
 
you just have to read through a bunch of them. It's kinda hard to explain and they're definitely NOT everyones cup of tea. I, however, was crying laughing by the time i got through the 3rd page or so.

The problem with that website though is that some people submit ones that are just awful and not really anti-jokes anyways.

Kinds of irks me when people hotlink to my images = bandwidth spikes. What irks me more are people who pilfer graphics and/or page formats from my site for theirs that I had to pay for. Freeloaders suck. Maybe I will pilfer their stuffs and sell their work cheeeeeap just for fun and giggles. :mad:

Sorry to hear that and sorry you are so upset. But if you can manage to look on the bright side of this, they obviously are jealous of your work and want to copy it. Take it as a compliment, then sick the gnomes on 'em.

another week goes by and nada -- today i get another PM: he took it camping over the weekend and decided he doesn't like it that well after all, amazingly enough the things I originally said I was not totally keen on with the thing due to it not being long enough for a person over 5' 10" or so now bother him -- what's my shipping address.

so now, 2 full months after I had the first "$$ is heading your way this week" PM, supposedly he will be boxing the hammock back up and sending it back. Wonder if it'll show in time for the gathering?

When you get it back, you need to send him a steamer in a box and tell him you decided to trade after all. Throw in a bill for rental fees for good measure.

You can add some code that will prevent the images from showing. It'll still cost you some bandwidth, but not nearly as much.
I get the outrage over people taking stuff and claiming it as their own. But as long as people are giving credit, there's not much difference between hotlinking and just providing a link to your site or images.

yah, you can have site detect code, either server config, or using other formats... such that should people hotlink, they get a warning image. if they keep doing it, they can get full page goatse :> as well as methods to bury your images, make them hard to find and/or non-draggable and/or active loading (requires JS and bones some users), but you CAN annoy the moochers - they can always screen grab though.

don't forget to copyright your css code. obfuscate/compress your JS.

buy more bandwidth :D

Thanks for the tips, I will need to look into getting some more books, Late night web work again blah. I'll offset that by thinking up some fun messages for right clickers.

My methods are usually more direct, Take club, bash offending idiot, repeat as needed. Just a simple guy I guess.
