nice lookin axe there man. Sweet pickup. Now go out and let mother nature know exactly how you feel about her.

The forest service puts out a publication "An axe to grind" that is a free download. It's really a fun read and has great tips (and they have a companion video that will lock you up for a while too). I strop mine with wet/dry on a sanding pad and get them all shaving. It's a blast digging through flea markets and junk shops for old axes.

Thanks Trade, looks like I have homework.

With the handle, just keep it clean and use linseed oil on it?

I mix 50/50 boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. Use it for everything. Wipe down the handles, the head and even the leather mask. Murphy drinks it.

Proof, that despite all the talk about Iced-mocha-frappa-buckets of piss, when Murph is actually working, they drink working man's beer! I taught 'em that.

I have both - they 10x10 works well so long as the wind is predictable -- if there is a strong chance of storm with quartering winds the 12x10 gives better coverage and you can close the ends in cold weather.

I have a user 3-mil, would be willing to trade scales if you want canvas micarta -- they're not pristine, though.
otherwise, you might consider the Knife Connection's custom G10 scales -- totally changes the feel of the knife. (in a good way)

Thanks, on both accounts. I plan on either trying to dye / darken my G10 or just get the TKC G10 scales. I prefer G10 on the ESEE blades over their micarta. As for the hammock, I think I'll just go 10x10, because it'll get a lot more use and if weather looks bad, I'll probably use the tent anyway.

Blind Horse March Special..... Bush Pig

First monthly special I've liked in a while, jumped on it. They are now sold out/back ordered. Now I wait.

Full convex, 3.75" A2 5/32 Blade. 3 sheath options which are interchangeable with the Bushcrafter. I've been wanting to try a knife in A2 and this seemed like a good deal.

A little funny looking, but I like it.

I hovered over the order button for a couple minutes. First one in a long whole I've been tempted by.

That explains alot about Murph...

Aww, y'all are gonna make me blush.

Got my 2nd Becker patrol pack in the mail today from Skogkniv. This one looks unused as well. I think I may hafta put my Mystery Ranch 3day up for trade on a Large Becker patrol pack.

After gagging down that lemon blueberry fluffy ale, I'd drive up there for one. I'm plumb out of B&T and dying here.
