I hear Murph gives good aural.
Finally shot the new 10/22. Stock.
Going to scope it and shoot it one more time before I do the build.
My tired old eyes were able to group a softball-sized pattern at 50 with the iron sights. Shot high but consistent.
I didn't even try 100. The front sight covered the entire target at 100.
I was just using Federal value box. The rifle churned through 130 rounds without a hitch.
 
Is there any beckerheads that can accept a moneypak or money order from me to send another beckerhead, Cam_16, a paypal payment? i dont have paypal and him being in australia makes getting him some money pretty difficult. with moneypak there will be no fees for you and the money is deposited in your paypal account immediately.or i can mail a money order if you (anyone?) prefer.

stock 10/22 sights suck. So many replacement options for irons (or scope).

Cool peep sights Psy. Mine won't look stock too much longer. I've got a Green Mountain barrel, a Timney trigger, a Hogue stock, a Nikon scope, and a Harris bipod for it.

You should just be able to send cam the code on the back of the money pack and have him redeem it. That's how I paid for my BK-10 then deleted my Paypal account because it pisses me off :D

they're out there... just dig in ALL your gun shops!

i see them lately for $130-150 for a basic 91/30

one shop has a fairly nice M44. serials don't match but it looks good to shoot - something like $250

there's a shop down the road with a "sniper configuration" 91/30 style. "bent" (screwed on) bolt, they want $800 for it

i've only ever seen ONE M39. it's the most pretty Mosin ever. it's MINE too :D

the stock is maybe worth $100-120, and then gun the same. so.. not exactly saving anything. esp if you don't get the ORIGINAL stock...

you could wait up right now, and get that new synth Mosin stock that was announced, that take EXTERNAL MAGS (10 rounders!) - basically you drop the internal mag/follower/interrupter, and voia. i think this stock can also use a with the bayonet still.

there's also a Mosin Timney Trigger! oh my. that new stock has the spacings for it - bonus! the Timney has its OWN safety too. niceeeeeeee....

so if you get a good clean barrel - esp a carbine, and a nice bolt, you can make a stupid good rifle from it with some good modern updates.

i THINK you can also put rails on this stock, for modern scoping.

so, yeah, i'd wait...

or, get a VEPR 7.62x54R :) AK style Mosin sporter. scoped. apparently VERY nice target gun. "on my list"...
