These normally aren't sold in the knife or outdoors section. They are in a isle display well at least at our Walmart they are.
This is why these are a great buy, you can take a new knife and grind away with out worry or concern about ruining it. Cause even if you do your out $4.Picked one up, slight vertical play, solid sideways. Vertical play puts pressure on lockbar causing it to move to unlock. Lock will fail after 4-5 hard hits.
I am not planning on using this for anything other than I would use a rough rider slip joint, so I am not overly worried.
This being the case, I took it to my belt sander for some modding.
Long clip with swedge, rounded the top most jimping, eased the corners and peaks of the jimping as well. The bump in front of the thumb stud is just the lighting, it is just from me softening the 90° angle that was created through material removal.

Would work hardening because of excess grinding heat actually ruin or improve it?This is why these are a great buy, you can take a new knife and grind away with out worry or concern about ruining it. Cause even if you do your out $4.
That I'm not sure of, thou typically when I'm grinding I don't let it get hot to the touch by water dipping.Would work hardening because of excess grinding heat actually ruin or improve it?
You sound like a personal trainer for knives. [emoji23]I'm gonna reshape the blade, remove the flipper tab, and round the butt a little bit.
