• Spring cleaning sale: I've reduced prices on the BladeForums.com Logo Tshirts and PVC patches to move these out of here! We're down to sizes Large & XL on the shirts, but have plenty of every colorway left on the patches. Get them before they are gone! https://www.bladeforums.com/help/bfcmerch/
  • The search engine is not working correctly. We are aware of the problem and are working on a solution. Thank you for your patience.
  • I've implemented new password tools to try and cut down on the number of people getting their profiles compromised by reusing the same passwords that they have used elsewhere. If you are using a password that has been exposed in a data breach and is listed on haveibeenpwned.com you will get a notification to change it the next time you log in. When you choose a new password it will show you the strength; you will need a "Medium" strength or higher password for here, 8 characters or more in length.

    Thanks for your support!

Right now, how many knives can you touch?

I'm embarrassed that its only three. But I have probably 125 more within a few paces. But I know that doesn't count.

I was looking for a particular knife to open a package that came this morning. as i was looking for it i realised i had loads of other knives within reach.
So i was wondering.....without taking your butt of the chair you are sitting in, how many knives can you pick up.
You can stretch, but not get up. If you are standing, you can reach but not take a step.

I'm shocked and a little embarrassed to say i can reach 49. :)

I have a problem...lol

I have so many questions lol

Sitting at my desk in my home office as I read this, the answer is: way too many. My desk drawers are filled with knives, and rotating my chair lets me reach the bookshelf behind me without moving, where there are also knives.

Are you at work? Do you sell knives? Did you happen to be cleaning or documenting your collection?
lol.....no i'm at home sitting in my favorite chair with the laptop and tv in front of me. The knives are all around because i'm a very lazy untidy man.
Also, i work on knives im modding while im sitting watching tv....told you i was lazy. Then i just dont put them back where they should be. So i have knives on the floor, three on laptop, a few on table next to me, and a shedload hanging from hooks i stuck in a big bookcase next to me.
I used to make and sell knives all over the place, but not anymore. I just mess about modding stuff for my own amusement now.

I just need to learn to put things away when i'm done ...lol

That makes sense. I make sheaths as a hobby. So at night I'll sit around with the knives on a table by my couch and make the patterns, cut the pieces etc. Then the next morning I'll wake up and realize I have a half dozen knives I need to put away before the kids wake up.

Exactly !!! its like you cant stop. You just have to be tinkering with something. I'm not a very good leatherworker by any means but the stuff i do make, i make while sitting in my comfy chair in front of the tv.
In the middle of the night i will go out to the shed, bring in an old knife and start sanding it when i should be sleeping....lol

Right now without getting out of my chair, I can reach 6 knives.

Edit: Oops, I forgot the slip-joint pocket knives on the floor! 14 knives.

I would say 30+
But I don’t think it counts because half of them are butter knives and the rest are cheep kitchen knives. I’m just finishing breakfast so I’m sitting at our kitchen island.
As far as quality knives or edc stuff, I got none in reach. :(
