Thanks very much. I hope so too. I am not holding out too much hope - I'm kinda like Charlie Brown and his football at this point; I want to believe but have been proven wrong many times. If I had a nickel for every time I was told my knives were "on the bench" over the past couple of years, I could buy my own Rolex backBut I will be the first to let everyone know if Dustin makes this right. No one would be happier to be proven wrong than me.
lawfor, I hope you get your knives, but I for one would be very skeptical about the quality of what I received from him. Will they be properly heat treated? Or even heat treated at all? Will they be made of the steel as originally described, or made out of some kinda cheapie junk?
Even if what Skelton said is true, and he does in fact "make it right", it's extremely pathetic that it had to go this far.
I'm sure that the only reason he might make your knives is because he doesn't want to face legal troubles with a family to feed at home.
I wouldn't even want the knives if I were in your position, I'd want my hard-earned cash back so that I can support a maker that isn't a borderline criminal.
I don't think that Dustin Turpin "finally making the knives promised years after the original target date" and then only after being called out in public over the extreme delay/failure to deliver, failing to communicate with his customer after he (Dustin Turpin) gets all pissy about the situation and then refusing to communicate at all with his customer, who manfully upheld his end of the bargain YEARS AGO would fall into the category of "making it right".
In my opinion, the only thing that would make this even close to being right would be for Dustin Turpin to make the promised knives AND RETURN AT LEAST 50% of the value of the Rolex was AT THE TIME IT WAS SENT TO HIM. We know that won't happen. I seriously doubt that lawfor will receive what he paid for. He might receive a couple of knife-like objects, but I don't think they will of high quality, and with the thermonuclear detonation with which Dustin Turpin has disintegrated his reputation, I doubt any knife by him that people have been safe-queening will ever be worth a fraction of what the owners have in them. I know I would never pay a dime for a knife by him.
