Ritter Wilkins Griptilians

Nice! Yeah, my Ritter showed up yesterday. It's my first one and the blade shape is excellent. The wait for titanium will be rough, though. According to tracking, mine went through Frankfurt yesterday....

Hopefully mine is riding shotgun with yours. It usually takes anywhere from 7 to 12 days from my experience.

Just added a Ti mini-Ritter. Ignore the CRK that is my EDC that I use/abuse most of the time but I think the Ritter will be bumping it for quite some time.

Thanks atony. The bottom Ti-ritter I just picked up from a fellow forum member. It's now riding around in my pocket picking up some small, beautiful scratches on the Ti. Looks so good with some real usage marks. Not sure that the blue Al version will so I've been more careful with that one.

I have two of the Ritter/Wilkins mini-Griptillians, the one pictured below with Black hard-anodized aluminum scales. I've only used this one a few times so it's still in great shape -- used as my "special occasion" knife if there is such a thing. After a collection binge over the years, I need to thin the herd a bit so will probably be selling this one soon. My other Ritter/Wilkins has seen a lot of use camping and on other home projects and will remain a great partner for years to come I'm sure. I see why so many folks here like the knives and I'm glad I took the advice from forum knowledge

Looks awesome, Atony! How do you like it?

My tracking status has been "out for delivery" for at least 3 hrs...

This is like my 4th set of large Wilkins so I kind of knew what to expect. They are awesome, really beef the knife up.

Getting it together turned into pretty much of an all-afternoon ordeal. The last screw holding the original Ritter together was loctited in like cement and the head stripped. Home Depot and Lowes associates had no clue how to remove screws that small but a third, local hardware store owner sold me a size 1 "easy out" drill bit which ended up doing the trick. Took screws out of another Griptilian and got the RW Grip together after all. I guess hassle makes the heart grow fonder... er, something like that :D

It is a much different beast. Quite heavy but so much more substantial than the original Grip. I had my lady hold the knife before and after; she got the titanium one in hand and said, "wooooowww, faannncy." Pretty slick having a titanium handled Axis folder.:thumbup:

Looks great. I like the heft of the knife, weight has never really been a problem for me. Really gives the knife a whole different feel doesn't it.

Big time difference. An extra ounce or two doesn't bother me in the least, either. It feels like real treat to get to actually have one of these.

I'm already curious about a large size aluminum version now.

Here is mine.Mini ghost titanium with orange backspacer(alu) and titanium custom clip.

Do you have another shot of the clip?

I used a Ti clip from Les George on my large Ritter, wish I had about 10 more of them.

Are you guys using the long pocket clip screws that came with the scales or sticking with Benchmade screws? Rexromic's appear to be Benchmade. Btw, great loooking mini-Grip. Love the orange back spacer. I asked Kevin whether orange was available for the large and he said no/no plans to make them.

Very cool. I can't believe how much the scales change the knife. I have never noticed the scales with the lanyard hole in the spacer. Is that a new thing, or have I just not noticed it before ?

That is semi new.
The first WilkinsGrips did not have the lanyard hole.
So, this version (w/lanyard) is relatively speaking, new.
It's been out for roughly a couple years now, give or take.
