So it seems my father in law is invited to meet the king and queen of Belgium. I never knew Belgium had a king and queen, haha.

Let him know im busy until Monday. But he can come by and meet me anytime after 2PM on Monday.

It is customary to bring beer and food when meeting me. Just a heads up.

Awesome stuff Warrior.

Glad you are liking the 15 spike, and glad you had a great birthday! Also, thank you for the kind words my friend.

My father in law also completed his book, and has it published. Seems weird seeing a book your fil wrote on Amazon.

Uuuugggg ......... 18 hr. Day today........... beyond beat. Thought I was over those days but I guess not. The beauty of it is I'm proud of what I got accomplished today. A lot of cool stuff I'm working on (some knife related, some not) is just on the brink of being finished. Really excited to show you guys. But hate to show too many works in progress. Soon....... hopefully........ goodnight.......

Happy belated birthday Spikebot!! The 15 is certainly one of my favorite Beckers.

I'm getting the itch to do some ice fishing!! The weather has turned cold the last couple weeks and the lake is starting to ice over on the bays. The farmer I was working for gave me a really nice thermal flip-over ice house along with my last paycheck from him. My rods are ready to go and I've been stocking up on lures. Ice fishing is gonna be great this winter!! There are actually some crazies out on a few smaller lakes already.

That is kind of badass sir! That is kind of like Cap'n Airyca's husband... he's published and on amazon as well.

I feel your pain brother, I had OT today too. Not 18 hour day (thankfully those days are MOSTLY behind me) but today was a shorty 12 hour day. I had to interpret an awards ceremony tonight (another black tie affair)... I never would have thought owning a tux would be a part of my job!

I've never actually been ice fishing... Growing up near Chicago the only lake we really had access to easily was Lake Michigan... I'm not sure it ever freezes over enough for people to go out on it! It seems like it would be cool though. I always get nervous about if the ice is thick enough to support me. I realize if it supports a truck it will support me, just that initial step would be hard to take for me. I do want to try it some time though.

You feeling better bubba? The soup help? When I'm feeling sick I usually load up on hot soup but I make sure it's loaded full of pepper, turmeric and garlic.

Totally stolen from Wiki regarding turmeric: The active compound curcumin is believed to have a wide range of biological effects including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumour, antibacterial, and antiviral activities, which indicate potential in clinical medicine.

I read his first book. It was pretty good. Cant remember the name now.. For some reason im thinking the word "sun" is in it.... It was about a guy racing in space IIRC...

Its late Friday night... I cant be expected to remember anything too clearly right now LOL

What a day. I'm going to the woods tomorrow and decompress.
I'm definitely jealous! I was thinking I will be spending most of my day in bed tomorrow... decompressing. It sounds lazy I realize but since going full time work is kicking my ass! I have yet to have a 40 hour week at work. So far my shortest has been a 50 hour. Frickin' beautiful paychecks but yeah this week I had 881 miles billed. That is wayyyyy too much seat time! (Although not compared to AC... I don't want to know how many he logs... On third thought, I kind of do...)

Yup! Something to do with the sun, I don't remember it was 3 words. Something something Sun... or something like that. I have it! I just... yeah it's friday night I just woke up from falling asleep at 2130.

Im not coughin up the nasty flem stuff anymore but my sinuses and head still feel like ass. The soup did help clear up my sinuses for a bit though... Mostly due to how spicy it was.

Turmeric is great stuff!! And i dont go a single day without garlic, onion, and cayenne.

But every year since i been here when it starts to drop down to 30° i get sick. It last a couple days and is mostly just my sinuses and chest congestion. But it sucks. I spent most of today in the hammock.

Thanks for thinking of me brother!! :D

No worries... I was reading through the thread when I woke up and saw you saying you was sick. Yeah love the garlic, onion and pepper. I usually add sriaccha to everything that needs some flavor cause it covers all three of those!

It was actually really funny this week, on Wednesday one of the girls at work was getting sick, and was generally feeling like ish. So I offered to let her use my sleeping bags to take a nap in the office. I keep them in the car cause you never know when you're gonna get the itch to pitch the hammock somewhere. So she took me up on the offer for the bags, I come walking in with my two bags and a pillow, and she starts laughing HARD. She didn't expect me to actually have the stuff in the car. I'm not sure why not but yeah anyway I got them back today. She missed for the last couple days and the bags were in her office. Now everyone in the office is asking me about what else I keep in my car.

The usual "on the run" kit I have is 2 sleeping bags, a pillow, a hammock, 2 change of clothes, a suit, a hard hat, hearing and eye protection, driving shoes and boots.

So it seems my father in law is invited to meet the king and queen of Belgium. I never knew Belgium had a king and queen, haha.

G-shark would know about that.

Yes I do. We do still have a King and Queen. Mostly protocol, they don't have any legislative power anymore since WW1. Philip is king since last year. He goes on quite a bit of trade missions and they seem to be useful for our economy... So we keep him:D. There's a growing movement for republicanism though. We're a parliamentary monarchy, so to speak.
