In my experience, the edge is flawless out of the box with a perfect mirror polish. People keep saying scary sharp and I have no other way to describe it other than "scalpel" like.
It can not just cut, but "shave" paper beyond any knife in my experience.
Thanks, can it whittle hairs?
Yes. I was able to whittle hairs with my Rockstead Shin, which has a much thicker edge than the Higo. I would guess the Higo can whittle more easily with its thinner edge.
have any1 had any problems with rust on the yxr-7 dlc steel? ive been edcing mine for a couple of weeks and no rust. i usually wipe it with paper every night when i have used it and used benchmade cleaner and lube once.
nope, I've been carrying a Higo with DLC for like... 4 months? I don't really do anything to maintain it other than a quick strop once a week like they recommend. I haven't had any problems with the blade, you can't even tell I've used it![]()
What do you do to prevent stains and rust on the blade?
Thanks
Nothing
I know that sounds like I'm being a smarta$$ but I'm really not doing anything to prevent stains or rust. If I wash it real good, sometimes I hit it with some 3/1 oil but that's pretty rare (like one time actually). I haven't stropped it in about a month and it is just now getting to the point where you can perceive that it's getting "dull." Everytime I use it it looks like the DLC is getting scratched up, but after every strop it looks brand new
Has yours been having issues? Id really like to see some pictures if you are in fact having a problem with rust or staining, it may be a defect or something![]()
's is a DLC blade also. He uses his in the kitchen and everything and I don't believe he's had any issues with stains. He's had his much longer than I've had mine.hsc3
