Rodent 7

R7 is fairly new, and on top of that it has giant shoes to fill!
Camp Tramp, Ratweiler and Chopweiler are some of the most well regarded Swamp knives up to date (only RMD has a better rep so far). That and opinions on the 'lightning bolt' handles are polarizing people. I got to fondle R9 and decided that the handle does not work for me, so I didn't buy R9 or R7 for that reason. IMO folks with large paws should be quite happy with the handles, for me they're just too big and awkward, and I don't buy knives that I would not use.
That's just me though, there's a whole lot of folks out there who love the handle and swear by it.

I've came to the conclusion that a RatManDu is seriously in order :)
I'll put my order in tomorrow for one.

I`m in the same boat - only buying knives that i would use. Hasn`t tried out the R7 and 9, they sure looks good, but i has my RMD and my M9 and to me they are absorlutley perfect in all ways

Bring the M7 :D I`m ready

Excuse my ignorance but, what is the M7?

A mythical Swamp Rat knife ;)
Was supposed to be released few years ago...

A 7 inch version of the Mischief family. Knives that were released are HRLM, M6 and M9, and some might argue that RMD would belong to the mischief line

I thought that the Ratmandu, HRLM and even the Swamp Warden and Rodent Solution were technically part of the "Mischief" set, though the last has horizontal surface-milling more akin to the Chopweiler, Ratweiler, TazRat, dog skinner, etc. of a previous line...

It was the line immediately before the recent "Rodent" series 3,4,5,6,7,9.

How many "lines" have there been?

I'd say that the most distinguishing feature has always been the handle, so it would be:
Res-C handles
Ratweiler handles (with Choppy and Taz as variations, and Shaker as the skelly blade)
Mischef
Rodent

And the odd bits like
Vex
Rat Tail
Rodent Soultion
Rat Trail
Rucki
Waki
Hawks

It certainly is a pity that so few exist that they only would be gathering dust in safes...

The thing is, a prototype has already been made! Its in the system. They just have to say " what the heck, make it". It could be the Ultimate Camp knife!

Good luck. They've been wanting a basic 7 for a year or so. I'd like to see the KLRM again.
