Dare i say it, BUT,The knife is flawless! No gaps, perfectly flush in three positions and polished inside and out. It just has incredible fit and finish. Slightly above average pull, firm, tight and perfectly smooth. The edge is ground very nicely and it is stupid sharp.
It's outstanding. You couldn't ask for more
You may be right sir... I'm certainly not a knife connoisseur but can't imagine a new production knife getting much better (in terms of fit and finish) than this. Add in the neat, out of the box designs and D2 steel .. it's a winner for sure.Dare i say it, BUT,one day into the future people may look back and say " Remember When These Sat On The Shelves For Ages And You Could Take Your Time To Purchase One ". Just a thought for the day.

The apple jack showed up today and other than some minor scratches on the shield there is nothing wrong that I can see. The blade shape, nail nick and swedge arrangement is pure art. Thanks, after getting the beaver creek barlow I have been thinking about an Appalachian Jack. The seconds sale sealed the deal.
Great shot for the size reference. Looks like the thickness is similar. Is that the case?Got mine great little knife. Shown with a GEC 15, the rose craft is a tad longer. Jigging short on pile side but great otherwise!View attachment 2339464

They’ve had a seconds sale happening for a couple of weeks now. Most models are sold out.Rosecraft have a sale on at the moment. Looks like some good deals if you are thinking of putting your toe into the water.
Gary, I’ve been hemming and hawing about getting one of these but your post pushed me over the edge. I’ve already have the barlow and kayak and they are both impressive. I’ll be posting pics next week. Oh yeah, my wife has a bone to pick with youFit and finish is excellent, blade centered perfectly and edge bevels ground evenly with a mighty pointy point!

with Moi? I have no response to that....... Oh yeah, my wife has a bone to pick with you.
I also have the Awanta, in red. Agree that is has a serious pull and good half stop. I did have to smooth down the edge of the nail nick as it was so sharp it created an abrasion on my finger. Just used a medium, then fine sharpmaker stick and good to go.I have an Awanata. Its a little cutting machine. Strong pull and half-stop. F&F and W&T are solid. Very comfortable D-2 2" blade. Green scales show nice striations in hand. Photo not so much. Great buy for me. Nail nick end on blade tip side is a bit sharp. Only con I found.
