RoseCraft Knives

I have (3) RC knives.... Very pleased with them... Also, going to order the one just introduced.... Thus far I haven't seen anything to gripe about....

I didn't dig deep enough to recognize they are simply a distributor for the chinese products. Their website led me to believe these were knives made in the USA, so I purchased one. This is no ethnocentric rant because on occasion I have knowingly purchased such as Reate. However, in my opinion their advertisement was not transparent.

Hmmm... on the homepage of their website it says:

"RoseCraft Blades sources the best materials and manufacturers from around the world to produce its knives and plans to build a manufacturing facility in the USA in the future. Country of origin may always be found in the Additional Information tab on any product page."

and then, on the "Additional Information" tab of a randomly selected product (I believe I clicked on the "Loosahatchie Jack") it says:

"Origin: China"

Not really that much digging required.

Did you find the knife you purchased satisfactory?

For me, I try to take tools on their own merits - a great knife from China is a great knife and a crap knife from the USA is a crap knife. I've been pleased with all of the Rosecraft offerings I've handled and, if what they say about building an American factory in the future turns out to be true and if the quality of cutlery produced there is competitive with their Chinese offerings, I'll be thrilled to continue supporting them by purchasing the models that appeal to me. 🤷

I received the Kayak yesterday....... It is a 5 star knife...... Apply as many superlatives as you'd like, you won't overstate it's merits....... Did I mention it is incredibly well sharpened??.....

Met owner designer Andy Armstrong at a knife show yesterday super nice guy who took the time to show me and a friend almost the complete line of Rosecraft knives. Very knowledgeable and friendly guy. Will definately be adding a couple of his knives in the future.

These knives look really good. They must be gaining huge popularity, some of their models are tough to find in stock. Mainly the barlow. Im really liking the little riverbend skinner design.

I was not as familiar with the protocol as I perhaps should have been and no personal insult was intended. I have been rebuked by the board. And am contrite for breaching the protocol.

Dang it you’ve gone and done it again! After purchasing the barlow which is outstanding I was thinking about what to look into next. Well…I’ve got a Kayak on the way! Those red bone handles look beautiful! As always I’ll post pics and impressions upon arrival. 😀

Rosecraft is having a seconds sale for about 50% off their normal prices (still some left.) I received all four today and wow, I’m impressed. They put a sticky note on each box telling you what caused them to be seconds. The Loosahatchie Jack, for example, has incomplete jigging. It’s on the upper right side and is barely noticeable. All are very minor issues, some I can’t even tell. No cracks or blade issues. These are fantastic knives for the money.
